Well I'm sure they're gonna figure it out when they look at Flash's book, or log onto any website, or see some old newspapers, or magazines, or all the stuff with Peter Parker's face plastered all over it  This will have been mentioned before in this thread I'm sure, but just saying. It's just movie logic you have to go by I guess, with how the spell worked.

Also during the time he was public enemy number one despite no evidence, I like how we see none of the Avengers came out to defend him. Like Sam Wilson "I'm the new Captain America and I know this kid and he'd never do anything like that and we literally both helped save the world"
But again, I know it's just a movie.
Again, Magic - meaning all those photos and records have either been removed/altered to the point NO ONE realizes/remembers the name (Peter parker) of the kid in said photographs.

Amazing movie. Stil processing but one thing stuck out to me. It seemed like the case against Peter went away a little too quickly. I get that he got Superlawyer, but still.

All in all, immensely entertaining.

Well, I mean we all know that Mysterio faked it. Murdoch simply did his stuff to get the evidence of this truth. We don’t need to see 10 minutes of Matt proving what we know is true, not when that’s not going to be the focus of the film. If it were Daredevil the movie, yeah follow that. Or, if it was the Trial of Spider-Man the movie, yeah. But we knew it was false and it would just waste time proving what we already know.

The truly weird bit is that Damage Control took Jameson’s/Beck’s word and arrested everyone for it when in the real world celebrity or politician’s crimes are ‘revealed’ via the media all the time and the police and actual authorities do sod all. That was the least realistic part of the whole film. And this is a film with inter dimensional travel.

I loved that they included Daredevil in the movie but I can't image why they would hire him instead of just using a few hundred Stark Industry lawyers. And while Peter could get cleared of Mysterio's murder, shouldn't he still be under arrest for the multiple crimes he committed as a vigilante? (Trespassing, assault, etc.). If Strange hadn't been able to do the spell at the end I imagine Peter's connect to Stark Industries would result in tons of lawsuits.

I assume that Gwen, Captain Stacey, Mary Jane and a few others were just wondering around alternate-NY for a few days and then got sent back home (or to their deaths) without ever really knowing what was going on.

And was there a reason that Sandman was completely sandy until he got "cured"? Couldn't he switch back and forth between his sand form and human form?

I'm guessing the laws in the MCU have been somewhat different than ours for a while. No one's arresting Clint Barton, Stephen Strange, Luke Cage, Kate Bishop...even the Markovia Accords seem largely forgotten.

The Parker's don't have any connections to Stark Industries beyond Happy being his mom's ex girlfriend now that Tony has been gone for however long. No reason they would provide him a lawyer. It would likely also be a conflict of interest as no doubt there are a lot of legal battles for Stark Industries themselves after Far From Home

This is a fair question, actually, especially given that Happy is quoted by the news as a Stark employee. Unless Stark Ind. are trying to distance themselves from the mess.

Although, who’s to say Matt isn’t laid on by Stark Industries and is the one to take lead and make the break through?

This depends on whether he was registered or not, which MCU has shown very little interest in delving into post-Civil War other than a throw away pair of lines by Ross in Infinity War and Black Widow. With Peter on Team Stark, you could assume he’s registered and so at least partially sanctioned, but on the other hand he doesn’t get the official stamp before, say, confronting the Avengers bank robbers in Homecoming. And it would seem then that you can register and your identity be protected. Of course, this is supposition because it’s all left vague on screen.

I assume that Gwen, Captain Stacey, Mary Jane and a few others were just wondering around alternate-NY for a few days and then got sent back home (or to their deaths) without ever really knowing what was going on.
I like the idea of Topher Grace coming through, sensing the other Venom and going to find him as a way of not getting involved. And that Sally Field is wondering about somewhere too (her May clearly knows). It’s kind of convenient that Ned stops his portal search after finding two Peters. But Strange does have a line about how quickly he contained the spell and stopped it bringing more people through, so perhaps it really did stop at 7.

And was there a reason that Sandman was completely sandy until he got "cured"? Couldn't he switch back and forth between his sand form and human form?
Because Thomas Hayden Church (and Rhys Ifans) declined to participate until really late in the day and then only as ADR. This is why, when they’re cured, the footage of their human forms is lifted from Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man rather than originally filmed footage.

Just saw it and it is one of the best MCU movies ever.

The writer(s) and Marvel in general need an Oscar on their own for coming up with such brilliant ideas to make a free for all across all movieverses and actually pulling it off in the execution, it would have been so easy to drop the ball on either part.

Even though i was massively spoiled before i saw it and knew about Matt Murdock and the appearance of the other Spidermen ( though as the movie leaked and the trailers showed the other universe villains it was 100% guaranteed that they would show up too) it was still so well put together. The pacing was also very well done - the first hour of the movie moves quite fast, there is little time to take a breather as events unfold and the spell malfunctions, only after the big shocker of May's death does it slow down at the right time and give the characters, especially MCU Peter, time to deal with the aftermath.

After that it near effortlessly jumps between laughter and deep sadness but it never feels out of place or forced. The scene when MCU Peter meets the other Spidermen and each of them talks about their own responsibilities concerning the deaths of uncle Ben and Gwen is so brilliant i have hardly the words to describe it - it is the key moment of the entire movie and it works so well to tie everything together in the grander scheme of things. Stellar acting too from everybody involved.

The conclusion is heartbreaking too as Peter realizes that knowing him endangers the people around him and he sacrifices everything to keep them safe and nobody will ever know what he gave up - that is heroism and selflessness in its purest form. It may be a downer ending for some but it marks an important milestone for the character, he is no longer a teenager and made perhaps the most adult decision of his entire life, something that will shape his entire life and career as a superhero.

It would also be a decent end to Holland's Spiderman and a perfect way to continue with Miles Morales ( which they hinted at not so subtly in the movie) and also leave the door wide open for Holland to drop by and do a cameo, if he actually decides to step down for while from acting and slows down his life ( god knows he earned it to enjoy life a little bit at this age).

I think this Spiderman will get into my personal Top 5 MCU movies and it's getting really hard to get into that group.

Just saw it today and .......WOW! This movie actually got be back into the MCU because I was pretty much done after Endgame. Then I watched WandaVision, saw the Doctor Strange 2 trailer, saw the positive reaction to this flick and thought, what the hell? I was glued to the screen the entire time. Now I can't wait to see where this "multiverse" goes.

Since we were having spider-men from various universes, i felt that a Japanese spider-man from another universe would have added a nice touch to the movie.

Yeah, having him, Nicholas Hammond, and the Electric Company versions in just brief cameos would have been amazing.

Just thinking about the end with Peter at May's grave and Happy joining him.

Why is Happy Hogan even there, i.e. why would he know May at all given the fact that he only met her because he knew Parker is Spiderman? In fact how far did the spell actually go?

The spell was designed to wipe the memory of everybody on Earth that Peter Parker is Spiderman. The first one to uncover his identity on his own is Tony, when he recruits him to his side in Civil War, by extension he told Happy Hogan because he needed someone to keep an eye on Peter. So if the spell wiped that fact from Happy's mind it should also wipe the connection of Aunt May and Peter Parker, essentially making the events of Far From Home impossible for Happy. What would he remember from the Civil War and Spiderman movies and how would that re-connect in his mind without the Spiderman / Peter Parker connection?

I know.. superhero comic book logic and logic holes but still some fun thinking about that.

Yeah, all of that bugged me while I was watching that scene the first time but decided to shrug it off because the logic of the spell isn't going to hold if you look too closely at it.

Something I didn't quite catch is why did the spell which was originally to make everyone forget Peter Parker is Spider-Man have to mutate to no one knowing who Peter Parker is at all?

I don't know why that is. I recall the ending that Peter said he wanted to go back to the original spell. Just make everyone forget Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Then Peter started making changes of who he wanted to remember him being Spider-Man.

My guess is, things were falling apart so fast with the multiversal cracks in the universe (somebody call Matt Smith), and Peter just told Strange to make everyone forget Peter Parker. With no caveat of the just Spider-Man part. That protects MJ and Ned, stops other villains from coming to MCU Earth and isolates Peter from the rest of the MCU Avengers cast.

I saw it!

Full 3 story 70mm IMAX. Every frame! The story isn't a well polished gem though. Very many eye-rolling wtfs going on, but the good stuff makes it a fun ride. Not sure if it was all simply script problems or plot holes.

Still digesting whether the story as a whole adds up. Lots of visual distractions and the speed of events kept me from being sure of that as the film unfolded.

It might make sense or not, I cannot be sure with the films sounds and images still flashing and ringing in my eyes and ears. Possible it may be necessary for DS: IMOM to finish the story and pull it all together. Or I need to see it again.

First Impression B Could go up or down from there... (EDIT: raising my vote to an A-)

Didn't appreciate the theater skirting SM spoilers in the pre-show special about Morbius. After my avoiding all spoilers all this time only to have them drop clues right before the film is about to start?:brickwall:
