I got this bad boy today. I’ll be watching it soon enough.

This is now my favorite Marvel movie. There are only a couple of others that are even close competition.

In no particular order:

  • Captain America - The First Avenger
  • Shang Chi
  • Far From Home
  • Black Panther.

A friend of mine has seen No Way Home 10+ times by now ( once with me in the theatre and the other times with her sister or on her own). It's no coincidence that the movie was so successful, especially if you consider that the pandemic is still going in.

Personally my top 3 are Endgame ( way to go to stick the landing that hard and well after 22 movies), Winter Soldier ( better and more personal story than First Avenger in my opinion) and now No Way Home ( pushed down Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 to 4th place).

Far From; or No Way?

No Way Home is probably top 5 for me in Marvel, with Captain America: First Avenger, Avengers, Dr. Strange and Winter Soldier probably keeping it company. Might be recentcy bias on some of them. Endgame definitely is hit and miss throughout, and not worth the pain of Infinity War.

Question: We got a Frightful Five for the theatrical movie, but do you think the film could have accommodated a sixth member?

The concept art for NWH with a duel between Mysterio and Strange had me wishing we had seen this live.
The film is 2 hour 30 minutes long already. What's another 30 minutes to accommodate Mysterio and give us a proper epilogue ending for Peter 2 and Peter 3?

I think they should have got Harry Osbourne from the Amazing movies. Have him play off the original Norman.

On GallifreyBase, poster Dean Winchester, who says he's a Marvel insider, so take this for what it's worth, says that the Vulture was supposed to be in the film, but then there were budget issues due to Jamie Foxx's demands and Feige was pissed off about Michael Keaton's Morbius role, so those combined got him cut.

Again, same source, said that there was a plan for two Mysterios in No Way Home, when the film was supposed to come after Multiverse of Madness. The first would have been Bruce Campbell, and this would have been the Mysterio from the Raimiverse... only it turns out he's a good guy. Then, plot twist, he gets replaced by Jake Gyllenhaal's villianous Mysterio.

I have no idea if any of this is true. Just sharing the information.

The two Mysterio ideas sounds fun.

There has been so much rumor and speculation about NWH. Reviving Mysterio for NWH makes the most sense. Keeping with the theme of many of the Spider-Man villains have died fight them.

Sony does the concept art for Mysterio fighting Strange in NWH. Other villains escaped death to revenge themselves upon the web-head. Why not Beck as well?

Tom Hardy's Venom is in NWH as a short post-credit scene. I recall that Venom was also a 6th candidate, but they didn't have the time to establish a clause for Hardy Venom to hate one of the 3 Spider-Men. I've been saying that Topher Grace's Venom was a suitable candidate. As he did die fighting Tobey's Spider-Man. Haha

I hadn't hear of Vulture being in NWH. That's a little iffy. Since Sony controls the casting for the Spider-Man movies and put Keaton in Morbius.

We needed a Snydercut of this film. I wanted to see Tobey's Peter back in his NYC. With his daughter Mayday Parker wall crawling, MJ stressed out and trying her best. With Peter walking in with boxes and him saying "Pizza time".

For Garfield Peter. Seeing him go back to college to earn his degree and meeting MJ at orientation; would have been my ideal scenario. The make a brief connection and she says "go get'em Tiger", before he walks off.

The final scene being Holland Peter's winter swing.

I really like that idea. It really would have been nice to get to see what became of the all of the multiverse characters after they went back to their universes.

If they weren't Sony, these scene would be prime candidates to relaunch the Marvel One Shot short films.

Funny story - shortly after I saw the first Maguire SM movie, I thought it would be cool to have Mysterio in the 2nd one, played by Bruce.

I think it's better left open. After all, we may be seeing those Spiders again elsewhere if we're lucky.

A secret war movie would be a great way to bring together a mash of heroes. Someone could bring in Garfield's Spider-man to work with the thing for example
