Spider-Man movie (casting, rumors, pix till release)

The Amazing Spider-Man's budget could be as large as 220 million!

I thought the entire reason they were doing a reboot was so they didn't have to spend as much money? :wtf: :rommie:

There were rumours that this movie would be more angsty and less action-packed and would have a smaller budget as a result. But I always was dubious of this. The real reason why there was a reboot was that the studio and Raimi couldn't agree on a path ahead for Spider-man 4 and thus they all went their separate ways.

It was inevitable that the success of the last 3 would see more Spidey movies being made. Whether it came too soon to reboot and whether this one will be any good remains to be seen; I'm certainly glad that the studio has seen the wisdom of spending plenty of money on it; who wants a cheapo, modern-day Superman IV-type budgeted Spider-man movie?!

Yep. Rami and Sony had a disagreement over the plot of the fourth movie...didn't have anything to do with cost. It does look like the plot has evolved and changed somewhat since they first announced the reboot. I'm pretty sure page one of this thread has the announcement lol. I remember being really against it. Now I can't wait for this!

I don't like it either. I'm not really sure why the article calls it an intriguing one sheet. It's not like it actually shows anything. The font looks too blocky in my opinion.

There's no color to the logo. I feel like it should jump out at you. Maybe have some webs in between the letter or something.

Two reasons why this poster might not be real:

a) it says "Marvel Studios" above the title, although - unlike, say, Thor - it is not a Marvel Studios production as far as I know.

b) "In July 3" - really?

The question is: Why would anyone make such a boring fake poster?

The poster is kinda lame, but I do like the logo (if official). Elegance in its simplicity, I suppose.

If it's even real now. There is a Catwoman pic now that AICN claims might be from TDKR but looks like the fan art I had as my avatar pic.

It looks a little dodgy, so I dunno. I would figure Nolan and Co. would release Catwoman's image on their terms as opposed to sending it through low key viral marketing.

In any event, I'm sure Batman-on-Film will claim to have had this image for months now, but couldn't reveal it because "they promised not to".
