Spider-Man: Far From Home anticipation thread

Looks to me like it very likely is intended to still have some kind of fx around the head. Way too plain otherwise.

It could be a fishbowl helmet, or maybe a constant energy swirl in the shape of a fishbowl helmet would be more 'plausible' in the mcu.
Yeah, I would be surprised if the fishbowl isn't CGI'd in later.
Good points. Sometimes I forget about CGI for some reason and energy swirl standing in for a literal glass fishbowl would make sense.

How much more "man" does the character need to be? Holland is 22.
Yes he's 22...but wouldn't even get served alcohol down the local shop without ID. I actually like Holland, but it feels too much like a child-spider to me when watching him, I can't take him seriously in the way I could the other guys like Garfield etc.

I don't like Spider-Man Homecoming all that much, but Tom Holland isn't even remotely close to being one of the film's problems.

You're also grossly overexaggerating how young he looks.

The last thing the Spider franchise needs is another 30+ year old playing Spidey. Holland is by far the best Peter Parker to date and gives the movies a fresh perspective after the Raimi and Garfield debacles. Leave the emo out of the MCU

That's actually pretty similar to the route the Ultimate comics took.
I have to admit, when they first announced Mysertio, I figured the the fishbowl was too ridiculous to make it onscreen, but then I remember this is the franchise that gave us Rocket and Groot. If they do use the fishbowl, I'm assuming it'll either be transparent enough to see at least some of his face, or we'll get a few scenes where he isn't wearing it. There's no way they're going to cast someone like Jake Gyllenhaal and not show his face.

Ah, those are cool designs. Thanks for that, considering I've never read any Ultimate comics.

As for how he might be depicted, there's another (at least partial) option: Cut to Gyllenhaal's face periodically like they do with Downey Jr. when in Iron Man mode. Obviously, that won't work for the whole film, but that could work for battle sequences.

Peter Parker is a teenager, he's supposed to look like a kid. Personally, I could never take a a guy who is in his 30's playing a 17 year old seriously.

Mysterios cape and suit looks Asgardian. I wonder if he's using some asgardian tech to make his illusions work. I wonder if he might be retconned in the MCU to be an asgardian hiding out on earth or something.

Great news, Giacchino is one of my favorite movie/TV composers.
Huh, I apparently missed the announcement that Micheal Keaton was coming back.

Ditko inspired suit spotted.

I like that while they get a few odd looks, for the most part the New Yorkers are depicted as being nonchalant about superheroes dropping down suddenly in their midst.

Hope this one feels more Spidey like. Didn't get that at all from the first one.
Also, where's Mary Jane? :)
