I like this idea of her becoming Acting Ensign. Would make sense for the character.
Yeah, I think it might be something like this. I wanna say the symbol also looks vaguely like some kind of flyer, although we haven’t yet seen evidence of Starfleet in this century using smaller combat flyers.

Hasn‘t she been on the command track this entire time, though? Still seems to be a new uniform (variant) that no other cadet in those clips is wearing. Plus, the stripes are now black/silver instead of black/red. But I guess this could just be due to the entire uniform being mainly red now.

So, what do we want to see in this finale?
I want to see Genesis get a chance to step up. She feels like she’s been dragged into events, or kind of a passenger, and I want to see something more proactive for her than ‘dragged into Caleb’s latest overwrought drama.’
And I want to Darem go fish-boy and A) $&@“ %^#* up and maybe even do something shocking like kill Nus Braka or B) try to ‘go big’ and get slapped down and come to the humbling realization that he’s been *allowed* to win most of life as none of his competitors on Khionia wanted to beat / embarrass their future king. Either could take him in an interesting direction.

Maybe there's overthinking happening on Gen's uniform colour. It could simply be that she's about to serve on a ship and cadets have a uniform that more closely aligns with standard ship colours (like Uhura in SNW s1). Though that also explains why she hasn't got the standard delta=based tricom, she really ought to have a tricom if on active ship duty.
