Spoilers Speculation: Who's the Main Villain?

The Borg are not that old.

If we followed the books, it could be O, but i don't think the Picard series will follow the books.

We may see a new baddie.

I thought Borg are only a thousand years or so old?
From that Voyager episode.

We may see an altogether a new baddie.

Just going by what is said on memory alpha. Apparently Gueinien infers this in Qwho.

As to why the Borg have fractured memory's of the past may indicate they have periods of dominance and regression.

Likely the Borg don't have one single origin and are just the natural progression of any cybernetic species if it goes to far with multiple collectives appearing and merging when they meet (as that is the most efficient thing to do).

The Tkon Empire was destroyed when their homeworld's star destabilized and went supernova. With Chabon's claim that the Conclave of Eight warning came from the Tkon, is it possible the Romulan supernova was caused by whatever force destroyed the Tkon? Basically, the Zhat Vash were getting too close to discovering the secret of Seb Cheneb and doomed the Romulan Star Empire as a result.

IDK if it's been brought up, but what if the synths are the baddies? Maybe most of them have Lore's neurons floating around instead of Data's because Maddox thought he could control it. Now that's sheer fucking hubris.

One of the Spiner synths can even have the "tic".

I’d actually like if there was no real villain, just people afraid of something they don’t understand and that fear driving them to commit murder and wipe out planets to keep what they fear from coming into existence.
How quaint. The fear is fear itself. I could see Picard doing it. Kinda boring, but I could see it.

Seems more Trek to me, an actual villain that can be defeated and all their problems solved in just too easy. Trek is supposed to be more cerebral with concepts that could be applied to modern society.
Well, Picard first 8 episodes are a definite 10. Let’s have them stick the landing, cerebral or not.
