Is that new, or is it the Europa?
Speculation on other Starships we might encounter?

the ship in the centre is the Shenzhou, the other two ships don't seem to resemble the Europa.
the one near the borrom of the image might have round nacelles, but the poor quality makes it hard to say

Oh man, we are going to be so spoiled for new ships, aren't we?
Looking at that shot over a few times, I don't think that ship in the centre is the Shenzhou, or another Walker Class, some of the details are wrong, and the nacelles are the wrong shape.
Also no name or registry on the side of the saucer. It might be a variant of the class.

Nope. Similar design, but a lot of different details. No Name or registry on the suacer, the nacelles are a different shape, the fins on the struts are missing.
It could be a variant on the Walker Class, similar to how the Miranda had a couple in TNG/DS9.

I LOVE Starships. My binders from highschool were covered with Starship lists and doodles....I remember when i first saw Wolf 359.....and ST First Contact.. and the DS9 battle scenes...I was SO excited!!! And now I see this.. and I'm happy-ish..and sad at the same time. Definitely nice to see new designs.. but not what I was expecting or hoping for. Again.. I must be tolerant... breathe deeply and continue to wait and see.
If you haven't you should check out the Eaglemoss Ships Collection, they've done models of most of the ships seen on screen & some of the Wolf 359 ships are getting ready to come out. We have a thread about the collection in the General Trek forum.
In regards to Discovery ships, I'm excited that not only are we getting more but so many more.

Seems they're doing their damnedest to establish that the aesthetics of the Discovery are in contrast with all the rest of Starfleet. Supposedly NCC-1031 is the new and exciting shape of things, then, while we're seeing the old shape here. Or then it's vice versa, as the registry numbers rather might suggest, and the eventual hero ship is a rare has-been.

Yeah, when photos finally surfaced years after the fact of the Wolf 359 ships, it was like several holy grails had finally been found.
So...so far we have at least four if not five different Starfleet ship designs.
1. The Discovery
2. The Shenzhou
3. The Europa
4. ship in new trailer that looks like an upside-down Shenzhou
5. ship in new trailer that looks like a TOS-style Miranda (maybe a Europa kitbash)
Er, the Intrepid was named after several American naval ships. It's not an "alien" name. Maybe you were confused because the TOS Intrepid had an all-Vulcan crew.
I thought he was just listing a Vulcan ship, an Andorian ship and a Terran ship - as an example for how he hoped naming conventions would be, and not just named after Terrans 99% of the time (I can only think of 3 ships named after non-Terrans - the T'Kumbra, the Sarek and the Gorkon).
I predict were going to see enough advanced Federation ships to utterly smash TOS' "There's only 12 like her" and "a Starship is a very special type of ship." comments.
There'll be hundreds and they'll all be as capable as the classic Enterprise.
