Well, she's got the same odd mouth big teeth with gaps thing going on. That aside, a rather plain looking woman.

They managed to make Monica Bellucci look less attractive than I've seen her look before too.

I dunno, I see some similarities, but Kate Moss is fairly skinny and I find that very unattractive. I think Lea Seydoux has a rather good "girl next door" quality to her. I definitely enjoyed her in 'Blue is the Warmest Color.'

Do you think Kate Moss is attactive too ?

30-year-old woman vs. 40-year-old woman, makes sense sure.

But, yeah, actually. Kate Moss is a very attractive woman.

But, as Aldo said, we're not talking about her.

We're talking about Lea Seydoux, who is a very stunning woman. You're telling me when she walked through the dining car in that blue-green dress she didn't look like someone who should have the ground worshiped at her feet.

"Least attractive female lead in years" and "plain looking" indeed.

And "odd mouth big teeth with gaps thing going on", really? You realize that that sentence is pretty much a parody of the things guys are criticized about saying on the internet all of the time, right? Sort of like that meme of the fat acne guy saying WNF towards a celebrity or the "sharp knees" meme.

I would say I find Lea Seydoux more girl-next-door than classic beauty. Something about her face reminds me a little of Billy Piper. Her face is more of a series of interesting features than classical bone structure and symmetry. But she's still a very attractive woman, IMHO.

While it was too long, I thought it was very good, just not quite as good as Skyfall. I was really happy to see Blofeld and Spectre come back. I prefer my James Bond to be over the top, which is why I really didn't enjoy the first two Craig movies.

The opening sequence in Mexico just might be my favorite Bond opener ever.

I was disappointed with all the hoopla over Monica Bellucci that her part amounted to so little. I thought his chemistry with the younger girl (don't even remember her name) was nil. I just couldn't buy Bond's attachment.

In my mind, Bellucci should have had Swann's role and vice versa (even though I know it would have made little sense given how Swann was Mr. White's daughter - but some simple re-writing could've made it work). Bellucci and Craig had some excellent chemistry and I could see Bond absconding with Bellucci, not Swann.

Sort of my thoughts too. I was all for Bond hooking up with an "older" Bond Girl (re: someone his own age) and thought Bellucci was a great choice! But then he has a one-night-shag with her and that's it and truly hooks-up with, and changes his life for, the pretty blond girl almost half his age. So it's sort of one step forward and then two steps back.

I thought she'd end up becoming the sacrificial lamb of the story. But then she simply disappears from the film, I mean there's nothing wrong with that, Bond got what he needed and moved on. But in the past these types of characters are usually seen being killed off. Are we to assume that Felix was able to get her out of the country? Speaking of Felix, I'd love to see him again, Craig had some great chemistry with Jeffrey Wright. Assuming Craig returns I'd love for Wright to come back as well.

I really enjoyed Spectre. I think part of it was that I lowered my expectations a bit because of all the mixed reviews floating around. I won't lie, around the mid-section of the film it did feel it's length, I think it could have been a bit shorter, but I think this problem will go away on subsequent viewings. I also felt this was the Craig's most detached turn as Bond yet. I'm still not sure if I think that was a good thing or not. I guess I was getting kind of spoiled by Bond's more emotional side that to see him return as the stoic killing machine in this film was a little bit of a shock.

Also, while in the grand scheme of things it's such a small addition to the film. Having the gun-barrel open the film again for the first time since 2002, man it was just a really great thing. I had forgotten how pumped up that short sequence makes you for the following Bond film.

Finally got to my second viewing of Spectre last night and to by honest I liked her a lot more this time round. The romance still doesn't really convince, and the way Waltz says "Who else could love an assassin than the daughter of an assassin" does make it sound like some kind of evil dating agency. Must like long walks in the park, opera and sniper rifles..."

She is pretty, but I agree she's more the girl next door. I did think she looked stunning in the train, and also in the dress Oberhauser put her in, less so the less glam she was, which is the reverse of Eva Green (still the sexiest shot of her in CR was in front of the mirror with barely any makeup on as they're getting ready for the casino). Anyway, Lea Seydoux isn't my type, but its daft to say she's unattractive.

So, on second viewing I enjoyed Spectre a lot more, whether this is down to slightly lowered expectations from the first viewing I don't know, but I definitely thought it hung together better this time round. The finale played better, although I liked him better as the villain this time I still think Waltz was poorly cast, and the whole reveal unnecessary. My gf said after the first viewing that he just seemed too nice, too personable, which can work for Waltz in something like Inglorious, but felt too subdued for Bond.

The train fight was painful though. Where does everyone go? Aside from one crewmember in the background of one scene you see no one, and there were definitely other diners in the car. Plus, after destroying half the train Bond and Swann are blithely let off at their stop, no police are called or anything!

It's not perfect but its a lot better than I originally thought, just wish Bond had had a rifle, or even an SMG at the end, it would have made shooting the helicopter down much more believable.

And Monica Bellucci may only be in it for five minutes but what a five minutes!

One question, I don't think I quite picked up on this the first time, but are we to assume that Madeline shot Oberhauser when she was a child then?

Anyway I was between A- and A, I gave it A, I was too hard on it first time around but I have a feeling I might have been too forgiving second time round!

^ I was expecting it to be revealed that she shot him but this was left as a sort of plot thread dangling. That may well have been the case but neither character spelled it out. Perhaps the filmmakers wanted us to draw our own conclusions.

I thought it was a piece of backstory for her, but I never thought it was meant to be revealed that it was Blofeld she shot. I mean if that was indeed the intention then they botched it, or as you guys suggest perhaps it's left to us to draw our own conclusions.

I thought it was pretty throwaway the first time I saw it, but on second viewing the words they use and the way they look at each other suggests otherwise.

She tells Bond something to the effect that "A man came to our house to kill my father, but he didn't know I was playing upstairs. We had a Beretta under the sink and that's why I hate guns."

Then later Blofeld's conversation with her goes something like this:

"I remember meeting you when you were a little girl. I came to your house to see your father."

"I don't remember that."

"I do." and the facial expression of each of them is quite telling.

It may be coincidence but if not it's nicely done IMO, and if it is the case then it also implies that Bond's torture is as much about torturing her as 007. And given that Mr White was dead by the time Bond goes to Austria, you have to wonder why Blofeld had sent Hinx to get her? Was it to stop Bond getting information from her, or was it so he could enact another bit of vengeance now her father could no longer protect her?
