Spartacus: Vengenace season 2

I don't know, it's borderline... some of those gladiators are essentially mythical giants.

Watched it On Demand. I thought it started rough but I was coming around by the end. Looking forward to next week.

Not sure about Andy's replacement yet and he looked like he needed to hit the ludus for some training (though maybe we can chalk that up as a result of being in exile).

Doctore/Oenomaus is just the coolest looking dude.

And can kick some serious ass. The first episode was okay. It just looks and feels so different from the first season and the prequel. I think that's obviously intentional but will take I think another episode for it to grow on me.

It'll take some getting used to the new Spartacus. From some of the snippets of the upcoming episodes, it looks like the actor starts getting more comfortable with his take on the character. And it's just odd going from a man who was in his 30s protraying him to a guy in his late 20s so that's throwing me off.

Sometimes I am out of the loop on things. I didn't even know these shows existed until a few days ago. I have a very, very basic cable package so I do not get the channel this show is on.

Anyway I have ordered the DVDs from the library and I will be watching the Gods of the Arena one fist since the Blood and Sand is still on hold.

These look really good.

DON'T! DON'T DO THAT. The VERY beginning of Gods of the Arena will spoil the end of Blood and Sand. Yes, it's a prequel, but, certain events will be spoiled.

Unless you don't care.

But, really, I would recommend just waiting for Blood and Sand to be available. And watch in airing order.

Ah, thanks for the warning!!! I will hold off watching that then until I have seen the first season! Thanks!

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :techman: :bolian: :techman: :bolian: :techman:

The prequel informs you of their background, very true, but its more fun to see and love/hate them in Blood and Sand FIRST before you "understand them" for how they got that way in "Gods of the Arena". :)

You're welcome. I feel like the Prequel should have a warning label on it. Just because it takes place before, doesn't mean it should be watched before.

Trust me, it'll be worth it.

Another interview I missed first time around, with Liam and Steven DeKnight.

Ickudes some interesting ideas for Legatus that will NOT come to fruition this season.

Nice clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJdh6yJBJpQ

If you went to the premeire, this would be the fluff ahead of the show you would have seen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6bssIjWQlY&feature=relmfu I'm so glad they brought up Andy.

Lovely Lucy interview: http://www.afterelton.com/tv/2012/01/lucy-lawless-interview-spartacus-vengeance

Loved this one with her description of the relationship between Lucretia and Illythia: http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/interv...cus-vengeance-qa-this-season-is-enormous.html ...

Can we expect a few cat-fights with Ilithyia?

"I'm not saying there aren't, not saying there are. Let me just say it's an extreme relationship borne out of extreme adversity."

Rulz, you've been here long enough to remember that the Edit button is your friend. ;)

Totally stoked for this tonight. :D

Just discovered the show last month when we got Starz with our new bundle, and they were playing episodes frequently as build up to this premiere (I presume). We watched several eps back-to-back and fell in love with the story (still not so into the gore, but we've actually gotten used to it) and happily discovered it all On Demand and managed to get totally caught up. So sad to learn about the original actor's passing though. :(

Spartacus is one of those less common shows that dramatically improves if watched all at once. The language, the nudity, the blood, is all sort of jarring and distracting at first, but a couple episodes in it starts to feel natural.

The new guy in season two isn't as good as Andy(he seems too young) was but is not bad.

The main problem I saw in the pilot was that the show is visibly fighting its budgetary restraints. And that is not a good thing in general, but especially in a season opener. If our rebels have to keep run around the same few sets all season long it is really going to put a crimp on where the show can go story-wise.

Although he seems a bit too young, Liam McIntyre has a really strong resemblance to Andy Whitfield. Good casting (...though I miss Andy, of course:()

Episode 2 started to pick things up IMO. I am curious how things will go, the previous seasons had done well with limited sets but the "what now?" situation after the gladiator uprising may be stretching things too thin.

Last night had me wondering if we might get to see John Hannah again through flashback or one of Lucretia's visions.
