Space shuttle Endeavour launch today

It's at 12:47 PST or 3:47 PDT. It's the second to last space shuttle launch ever. The crew of 6 astronauts aboard the shuttle will join the 6 astronauts aboard the international space station and deliver a spectrometer.

I'm excited for this, even as it saddens me. I've been fortunate all my life to be able to stand in my yard and watch the shuttles go up and I'm wondering what's next for the space program.

All day I was worried the weather would cause the launch to be scrubbed (a cold front just came through and it's pretty windy) but it ended up being scrubbed due to a technical issue. Disappointing, but I'd rather they be safe. I kinda feel bad for the crowds of people who showed up, now they have to sit in traffic for nothing.

Local news is definitely reporting scrubbed with a possible new launch date of Monday.

I was so disappointed it got scrubbed. I'd planned to watch it with my daughter.

i've never seen a shuttle take off, but i've seen it attached to that jet a few times
