I think Zero Hour was a message to the fans not to worry about a season four.

Actually they really weren't sure there'd be a season four when they did "Zero Hour". On the DVD extras, Scott Bakula is asked about it, and he says he'd have been cool with Enterprise ending on a cliffhanger because "Sam Beckett didn't get home, either"

Jeez, ending the show stuck in an alternate reality with space Nazis taking over the world? That's like ending TOS halfway through "City on the Edge of Forever."

Actually, I think dealing with the Space Nazis took up valuable time that could have been better spent on other storylines in Season 4.

Of course you do. However somehow they had to do it, and they did. It was inevitable..You CAN'T have a Trek prequel without Space Nazis.

Funny.

Anyway, they could have just not done it. I always liked ENT, always supported it....but the Space Nazis are just beyond dumb.

Oh, how I hate them.

It's a close call in some ways -- TATV is obviously quite loathed indeed -- but there is a lot of talk of how the majority of season four made a great many long-time fans finally stand up and take notice.
