I'm not usually one to gawk, but holy shit those things are huge. If every Army person had boobs that big, every war would be over in hours. Yes, that includes the guys too.

That's a bit ... of overkill. Not every story can have a Sam Carter. This story has two "smart guys" - two males in that role and their storylines go well with the story.

I'm looking forward to the medic rising to the occasion and becoming a strong female character learning as much about non-invasive, "ancient" medicine as possible.

I'm not upset about this character's boobs - I think the premise of that scene was very 'real' and very likely - even if it was insulting. In fact, that's what made it 'real'.

And I love in the article how she said they're natural. Bull. Shit. You're an actress. Ain't nothing about you that's natural.

I couldn't care less about space feeling dangerous. I want it to feel exotic and wondrous. The Gas Giant scene was great, but what we really need are less dull gray alien spaceships and more color and mystery and strangeness.

I couldn't agree more. But, I do like that they have to go to these mysterious planets looking for the necessities of staying alive.

A show should be true to its premise. If a bunch of people are stuck on an old ship they can't control which also has a lack of food, water and air, then things aren't necessarily going to feel exotic or wonderous. If they didn't show the doom and gloom in this instance, it wouldn't ring true.

Space is also wonderous again - the gas giant slingshot scene was very nicely played. Sci-fi characters really have got 'jaded' to this stuff.

I have to admit, I'VE gotten jaded to this stuff. But I was shocked to realize, half-way through the scene, that I'd forgotten I was watching CGI. I have no idea why, but for a few seconds I believed I was watching something that was really happening. It was such a simple shot, but it worked well.

I'm not really missing the aliens. In Stargate, they're usually just a bunch of ignorant Medieval humans living in huts in some Vancouver forest anyway. Or they're Grays that act just like humans. Or they're slugs that live inside humans. If they run into aliens, I'd rather they weren't humanoid.

I'm still holding out for the Furlings, it's the perfect opportunity to meet them and have them be an Asgard-like race for the show, hopefully build some new mythology away from the somewhat tired 'The Ancients are Awesome' arc carried over from SG-1. Get back to some of the power of The Fifth Race.

Yes, based on the two stories we've seen so far, you have successfully mapped out the whole show.
If they didn't focus on missing supplies and absent supplies, you'd be on here moaning about that. "Where did they get the water from?" "Where did they get the food from?" It's the same complaint from Voyager or Atlantis again - some token mentions of limited supplies but largely, they have everything they could possibly want. At the start of the show, it is essentially necessary to have this type of story as the setup establishes itself.

Wow. Sorry to pull you guys away from you're highly intelligent conversation about mammary glands. But aye I must try. The story kind of has a Lost in Space without a steering wheel thing going and I for one dig it. They don't know where their going, how to stop, just that when they do stop, whatever they lack, they've got to try and find. No aliens, no space battles, no self important brain slug/snake/critters. Back to the basics. You can see right now that it's going to put more emphasis on character development at this stage than wowing everyone with how much CG stuff they can throw into every episode. Though, once we have a good feel for the characters and the situation I'm sure it will get more exciting, maybe they get control of the ship and do meet this fifth race, I don't know, but I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

It does happen, I've still got a lot of hole's in my SG1 and SGA, Got into it a bit late and have only seen what they show on the syfi channel. But I did get the first two seasons of SGA and go through them. I guess I'll have to get the whole thing now.
