Space Battles

No but they should try and replicate the quality. We've seen nothing anywhere near that good in a long while.
Subjective. Personally, I think the battle in ST 09 was on par with that with the characters. Though, I love the emotions in the Picard finale too, though that's a standoff and not a battle :D Also, the battle between the Discovery, the BoPs trying to save the Gagarin. I still just revisit that scene because the emotions run so damn high in that scene. Just amazing.

Quality for me here is highly subjective. Filling the screen does not automatically dismiss it from being quaility, to my mind. It's a matter of can I follow it, am I invested in the characters and the outcome. Discovery had several of those for me, though the S2 battle was less so.

Well, M5 had Complete control of the ship, and if said ship went rogue, then the Ai has a ship full of weapons, and depending on the type of malfunction, or awakining, then 1 ship could decemate a planet, or it could go around and take control of multipule ships. Its a problem even if 1 ship goes screw loose.
Now the ship main computer, if that went wild by itself, that could also be bad.

That reminds me of Fortune Teller from Airwolf

Well, that could be a good episode for Strange New Worlds, some type of Ion storm or something happens and it makes the main computer become Aware, and its up to Pike or Spock to deal with the problem. Be a good Original TOS theme of Man over computer episode.

Well, the main computer is always Aware. Or at least it's aware enough that it can use its left pinkie to create a projection that meets all the criteria of Aware.

It's just that the computer is smart enough not to play Aware except through the entertainment subroutines, or unless directly ordered. Normally, it just goes "Yes, Massa!", opens doors at socially precise moments, and answers important questions the heroes never had the wits to ask. And on the background no doubt runs simulated realities where it is King, God, Bill Gates and Hugh Hefner all.
