South Park season 15 disscussions & comments *SPOILERS*

I thought it was brilliant.

There really is just SO much shit out there right now.

I thought the ending made the episode great. Surprised to see that out of South Park but it totally worked.

I liked the ending I just don't like the fact that he see's everything as shit. not everything out there is shit. well except maybe the jim carrey movie. and then his parents devorced. and this is how they take there break. really really

Great episode, laughed out loud at the movie parody scene, it was so true and funny. This episode has been on my mind a lot. Its difficult to think that SP will ending, its saddening because I've grown up with it and remember all the great events in its history, the Chef Aid album, the merchandise explosion in its early years, the movie, the political years and its upsetting to think that its going to wind up.

Finally watched it. i thought that was one of the best episodes of the series. I was rolling on the floor the whole way through. LA Noire, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey and his fucking penguin movie... A duck president... or maybe the dog's the president, who the fuck cares?

But what can I say, I'm decently cynical.

I don't think the episode necessarily means the show is ending. You can interpret it that way I guess, but it's not like they straight up announced they were quitting or anything.

Based off that midseason finale, the writers have had enough with South Park. They are bored and should call it a day after this season and they can always come back someday for a 2nd movie.

I just saw an interview with Matt Stone & Trey Parker on the Daily Show with John Stewart. They are not quitting the show. They said they are still going to continue South Park.

:) :) :)

You're clearly wrong. Rampant, baseless assumptions based on two secondary characters getting a divorce on the show CLEARLY means the show is over and done with.

I mean, really.

I didn't say they were going to quit, there under contract till 2013 by Comedy Central if I recall but I do think they are bored of making the show, its not got the same thrill it once had.

I didn't realize this until I listened to their commentaries, but the show is not written by just the two of them. They have a staff of like a dozen writers. So if they really hate it so much, why don't they just take a step back from the day to day and let the staff who does most of the work anyway take over?

Is that true? I listened to their interviews where they said SP was different from the Simpsons in that the scripts weren't produced through writing by committee. They said it has always been their show, just the two of them. In addition in the credits it usually says written by Trey Parker, and the odd time Matt Stone or both.

that's why i so surprised because they only list the two of them. but if you listen to the SP episode commentaries they talk about going on writers retreats with a whole gang of people, and how this idea was from this guy, and this idea was from that guy...

Maybe those were just writers retreats like creative get togethers, as opposed to other writers having direct involvement and they basically stole other people's ideas! Or maybe they were just joking, they tend to do that. Or maybe it is writing by committee in which case I am dissolusioned.
