I can't see Wesley Snipes as Black Panther. For the early 1990s, I'd think a better choice would be someone like Laurence Fishburne or Tony Todd.

I love how confident they are in the James Cameron Spider-Man movie being made.

It came pretty close to happening. The reason the '90s animated series never used Sandman and only introduced a version of Electro late in its run is because they were going to be the movie's villains and were thus off-limits to the show. It's also why TAS didn't begin with the origin story -- I think the initial idea was to approach it as a continuation of the movie, or at least to allow it to seem that way to the audience.

Yeah, they would have been good, but Snipes was probably a bigger action star at that point, so it makes sense he'd be the default choice for a character like that.

Huh, I just figured it was because the general audience already knew Spidey's origin from the 60s cartoon and thus didn't need it spelled out again.

The 90s cartoon so far has been the only version that got one thing others didn't: Peter's motives for not stopping the Burglar. In that one, he just lets him go because "Hey, I'm not a Cop, what do I care?" while the others tried to "justify it" by having him be ripped off by the Wrestling Boss guy beforehand.

I honestly think that, if Cameron had made his Spider-Man movie, it would have tanked his reputation. According to what I've heard about his script treatment (not a full script, but a partial thing) it was insane (in a not fun way), and apparently would have required an R rating because of profanity and a graphic sex scene between Peter and MJ. Plus it apparently had the idea that spiders are remorseless killers and stuck that on Spider-Man. It sounds like an absolutely miserable film just from what is publicly known, and I don't think even Cameron could have made a hit out of his bizarre ideas in this context.

If this was a real Marvel Movie, I doubt she'd be allowed to read the script with out signing an NDA, or they wouldn't let the script off the yard, for fear it would get on line.

Depends on the company, script control, and NDAs.

Some scripts are only given out piecemeal based on parts.
