I've a notion to try to elaborate on the tech of the seminal sci-fi film Forbidden Planet and I was wondering if anyone here has any references they might point me in the direction of.
Or, better yet, let's talk about it here. What capabilities did the C-57D have? We know long range communications where only possible by unshipping the main reactor and improvising a long range radio (utilizing the klystron relay and a significant fraction of the ship's navigation equipment...) There where also deployable artillery platforms, but did the ship itself have offensive weaponry? Where was all this stuff stored aboard the ship?
I'd love to see someone else's work on this so I don't duplicate effort.
