Yes. Whatever faults it has, TSFS kicks NEM's ass any day.

I believe there was a cut line from the TSFS script specifying that Carol Marcus was elsewhere being debriefed by Starfleet and the Federation. Lots of things made more sense in that draft, IMO. Not everything, but lots of things, that were made worse by the cut scenes and re-editing of the film.
