Borgman's entry into the March art contest inspired me to come up with this little work in progress. It's a "kitbash" based off of Maseo's Avenger class. I'm working on it mostly because I like the "in universe" reason for it's appearance. Don't know how far I'll develop it. Probably just enough to fill in the rest with my imagination.

The Cold Reign:
Starting life as the USS Spinner an Avenger class destroyer, this ship served in Starfleet from 2258 until it was put in to surplus in 2299. It sat in a depot for 23 year at which point it was sold as surplus (minus it's armament and a few still classified systems)to a wealthy business man. The new owner had the engines and spaceframe re-certified, a new bridge module installed, new information and coms, and had the interior refitted to suite his lavish lifestyle. The USS Spinner spent the next 34 years as a private yacht.
In 2356 it was stolen from drydock in the middle of it's 4th interior redesign and was not seen again until 2375. In that year a Cardasian freighter was pirated by a ship matching the same general layout of the Spinner but with heavy modifications. From sensor readings retrieved from that encounter we know the following:
Now called The Cold Reign, the ships original Bulldog warp nacelles have been replaced with a quad arrangement (similar to in use on the Constellation class) of grey market Oberth class nacelles. This arrangement probably gives The Cold Reign a much higher sprinting speed in the neighborhood of warp 9 (new scale) at the cost of high maintenance downtime.
The Impulse drive is of a unknown configuration. Power reading indicate it to be %140 above the original units.
She has also been rearmed with 4 forward phasers, one aft phaser and a Klingon Disrupter in the chin mount where the mega phaser was located on the Avengers.
In short, she is fast, maneuverable and well armed. All caution should be used if encountered. She may still have secrets to share.
