You have the right to your opinion and, generally, the right to have it "heard" (it is a private BBS, so the "right" is really a privilege--but I digress). The opinion itself, though, has no rights whatsoever--certainly not the "right" to be given equal consideration with others, particularly when it has been demonstrated, with exceeding clarity, that it is an ill-founded opinion.

PhasersOnStun has best expressed why your opinion is ill-formed. I suggest reading his/her post for the sake of clarity and closure.

It is quite clear that some people are just giving Abrams a free pass why that is? Beats me but there is NO alternate universe. Spock and Nero changed the time line by going back in time. That is the WHOLE premise of the movie. Again, the VCR tape which has been recording has now been rewound and started to record again, thus erasing everything as it moves forward. References to "time travel" not parallel worlds is mentioned. Nimoy Spock clearly says "129 years from NOW" not "from another universe."

So is there anything you need to know that you clearly don't understand?

So people need to realize that all Trek (except for ENT) has now been erased. The movie clearly tells you this. Spock on the bridge says alternate reality which does NOT mean alternate universe. He merely points out that the events have been altered because of the time travel. It IS that clear. Making up excuses to say that it is not just being in denial.

From the results of the last time, I remember how it went, I never heard anything that justified a parallel universe.

I think the sound of you repeatedly telling those who did not agree with your assessment that they must have slept through the movie or that they had failed to refute your argument or that "Dude your a total troll" may have drowned out the sound of rational answers being given in the previous thread so that you were unable to hear them. I don't want to see that happen again.

From your most recent post, it's pretty clear that you're not here to discuss or to exchange views with others, but rather to proclaim that only your idea is right and to dismiss every explanation which does not agree with yours as not only wrong, but misguided and stupid -- this, in spite of the weight of evidence being on the side of those explanations and not on the side of yours. That, together with the same taunting quality which was in great evidence throughout your last thread on this subject, and which is creeping back in here (I've emphasized three examples above -- there have been more) after I expressly stated that I did not want to see it happening in this thread tells me that you're here to bait other posters.

As has been stated by others in this thread, you are welcome to express your opinion of aspects of the movie and to cite evidence for why you believe this to be true -- that's what this forum is here for -- but when you insult or belittle others, rather than countering the arguments and explanations and opinions they express, you are crossing a line into unacceptable behavior. I see no outright flames, but you're definitely trolling and you now have a warning for it.
