Hi everyone,

I'm new here, so go easy on me :)

I was at a pawn shop this morning and found a box set (DVD Format) of Deep Space Nine. It clearly states on the bottom of the box set that it is the complete Seasons 1 - 7, all on 12 separate disks. However, I can't seem to find this product in existence online. I figured perhaps I'm typing in the wrong thing, but after hours of searching, I've started to wonder what's going on here?

Every DVD set that I find that is 1-7 and titled DS9 is a completely different box...and also says it's 48 DVDs, not 12.

Can you guys help me figure out WHAT product this is? Picture below (of the box, and then the two sets inside of that box - seasons 1-3, and seasons 4-7).

Thanks everyone.

Could be one of those Chinese knock-off sets. With images of Picard & Janeway, they do seem to be confused.

As far as the # of discs, if they really crammed them full, with no extras, it's possible.

Did the boxes say anything about "double sided" discs?

Yes, it says double sided discs. Disc A and Disc B (Front and Back)

I was hoping it was the opposite - that this was something released within only a few copies and then pulled from shelves...and perhaps I had something rare... guess not ?

Goin' by the package art which with the inclusion of Picard & Janeway on one & three Galaxy class ships on the other, I'd say ya bought Chinese pirate copies.

Added tip - the official releases from Paramount were single-sided.

Ok, so there's a picture of Janeway (never shown in a DS9 episode)
a cheesy lined up picture of a Galaxy, Ambassador (which i think as never shown in a ds9 episode) and an Excelsior
and a picture of the Defiant with a Sovereign (never shown) and an NX! (never shown, and wrong era)

Yeah.... I think it's safe to say that this is some kind of cheap rip-off.

Jebus, I can't believe this kinda shit is confusing. Obviously it's chinese knock offs.

Hell, I bought a set off of Amazon that had the same packaging as the US versions, the same quality of picture and disc manufacturing- the only tip off, as well as the 200 dollars cheaper price, was that the moron I bought it from had the manufacturer in China send it directly to me - the address was in chinese, lol. So I complained and the guy offered to send me a replacement copy- from china. I complained further and amazon refunded the full amount to me, and I got to keep the knock offs because the moron didn't want his chinese knock offs back. I believe the prices there are anywhere from 1/3 to 1/20th what we are charged here for these sets.
