Some of my GIFs

they're not really GIFs but PNGs. I've always been interested in learning how to make a transparent image. I fear that I may be going the long way around but they come out nice and, IMO, a tad bit better than a regular transparent GIF.

See, I use a program called Inkscape to make a vector image. I'll then safe it as an SVG, open it with IE and right-click it, go to "save as" and I'll save it as a PNG. From there, I'll open it with photoshop to add effects and gradients.

Thanks for looking!

Nice work. You do know that Inkscape can do gradients and other effects too, right? Plus, you directly export a transparent PNG from Inkscape by selecting File->Export Bitmap. Just trying to save you some steps.

Good to know! I just wanted to keep the learning curve as small as possible.

Those are excellent! Really nice work. And, personally...glad they're png's...gif's need to fade away and die. I have never liked the format at all. :-)
