Some Fantastic Four Reboot news

This is interesting...it would seem that casting for the Fantastic Four reboot has started and that according to this article below that Adrian Brody and Jonathon Rhys-Meyers are up for Reed Richards while Alice Eve is being considered for Sue. I like Meyers over Brody for Reed (Meyers kind of resembles the younger Reed from Ultimate FF) and Alice Eve would be fantastic (pun intended) for Sue. The article also debunks that the title will be Fantastic Four Reborn.

I consider myself a FF fan and like most people disliked the first two films. Hopefully this reboot will be a little more in tune with the comics in terms of portrayal of the characters. The casting looks like if true is on the right foot this time. I wonder who they will cast for Doom this time around.

I dunno how this Alice Eve is Hollywood new darling. I watched She's out of my league and Sex in the city 2 and well I dunno she didn't really do anything for me. She kind of a looks like a mini Nicole Kidman even, but yeah, meh.

And Victor Von Doom, how about Christoph Waltz? Although maybe we need somebody taller and bulkier than Julien McMahon like a Dolph Lundgren type, but not him.

Christophe Waltz would be an excellent choice to be Doom...but I seriously doubt that he would want to take another villain role. I thought Julian McMahon was underused in terms of his acting ability for Victor and that the use of Doom's powers was what made that version of the character kind of bleh. They seemed to use the Ultimate version of the character whom I believed had some sort of electrical powers. As for Alice Eve not sure why she's approached casting director's radars other than the fact that's she's pretty. I saw her in the film "Crossing Over" (she has a nude scene in the film btw ;) with Ray Liotta and she's very good in that film. I've not seen her in the other films. I think she looks more like Sue Storm than Jessica Alba did with that ridiculously dyed blond hair.

I hope they make this version more FUN than the previous two films were. Despite the odd scene or two I didn't think the two films were very fun at all.

Victor shouldn't be older than Reed. So whoever they get for Reed, Victor should be the same age.

I could live with Brody or Meyers as Reed. And I like Alice Eve, so I'd probably enjoy her Sue Storm. Unfortunately, I think Chris Evans is still the best choice for Johnny. Maybe Chris Pine, but he seems a bit too much like Evans for comfort. And The Thing should totally be John Malkovich. :p

Of the two, Brody is more the Reed Richards type but neither seems quite right. :wtf: I think they're going to frak it up again.

Agreed:confused:
Brody is a fine actor, but im not sure if he looks for the part enough and the other guy from The Tudors is bit too evil looking for the role, IMHO.
But rather Brody, if you have to choose from these two:)

I don't see Adrian Brody as Reed Richards. I like the fact that we know absolutely nothing about what direction they're going with this reboot and already there are some who think they're going to mess it up again.

I like Alice Eve. But that's just me.

So which actor from a hit FX television series can they cross-promote by casting him as Dr. Doom this time? Timothy Olyphant? Denis Leary? Charlie Hunnam? Danny DeVito? :)

Big fan of hers as well and was disappointed that she left "X-Men: First Class" as I thought she would have been a really great Emma Frost. If this report is accurate then I would love to see her as Sue. A way out there choice for Doom could be Viggo Mortensen. He's played a villain before in "Eastern Promises" and has that presence and ability to pull of a character like Doom. If they went in this direction then perhaps I could see Adrian Brody as Reed.

Hopefully this time they cast people who actually LOOK THE PARTS. Mr. Fantastic is supposed to have white in his hair because he's old, not because he's obviously a thirty-year-old who dyed white streaks into his hair. :p Also, Jessica Alba does not have blue eyes (forcing her to wear blue contact lenses), and looked way more exotic than Chris Evans. It shouldn't be that hard to cast a guy and a girl who both have blonde hair and blue eyes so that they can plausibly play siblings!

But the thing about making Reed that old is that it might weird out the audience a bit that a guy in his 50s is romancing and later married to someone about 20 years his junior. It didn't matter much back in the 60s because of differing values but nowadays it would seem rather bizarre.

Also, Doom has usually been portrayed as a guy in his 30s or so but logically he should also be in his 50s if Reed is.

I think getting folks who can act the parts is more important too me than looks, that's what make up is for.
Plus plenty of men go pre-maturely grey or bald in their 20 or 30's.

Really? I don't consider that an issue at all.

It's not.
Older men & women dating or even married to someone younger seems to be the new "in" thing, especially since 50 isn't considered old anymore.

Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez are brothers and look nothing alike. :p

Although what's weird is that they both look like Martin Sheen... just not each other.
