So You're Friends With Buffy...

Has anyone considered just how cool it'd be to be friends with Buffy and/or Angel with all the knowledge that you have of the show?

"Hey Angel, yknow that law firm you're thinking of moving in to....don't....really bad shit is going to happen"

"Buffy.....spend some time with your mom today okay, tomorrow she's worm food"

Youd be a hit! ;)

You could also give Buffy a heads up about why having sex with Angel would be a very BAD idea.

"Hey Tara, duck!"

This. Frankly, why Willow did not convince Tara, post Season Five, to move with her the hell outta Dodge is beyond me. Start over someplace else. Get their own series.

And I could tell her having sex with me would be a wonderful idea. :D

What I never completely understood is how in the span of really only a few years, Buffy went from a fun character to a brooding, bitchy, moping character... when Angel, who started out all broody and dark... got more fun. I don't get it!

And its not because the Buffster didn't get laid, I mean its pretty sad when the "geeks" of the group have more sex than the cute skinny blonde.

I suspect some of it had to do with the actors' respective tempraments. I get the sense that Sarah Michelle Gellar is pretty dour in real life. Meanwhile, Angel's goofy side was almost pure Boreanaz. I'm still convinced that no other Joss Whedon actor determined the direction of his character moreso than Boreanaz bringing out Angel's goofy side.

Well, Xander is a very rare exception. His one night stand with Faith can be chalked up to dumb luck. And he'd have probably been very sexually frustrated had Anya not just happened to be a total nymphomaniac!

I always did like Anya ;)

"Maybe it's bunnies! They're not as cute as everyone supposes, with their floppy ears and twitchy noses. And what's with all the carrots, what do they need good eyesight for?! It must be the bunnies!"

Xander was the biggest idiot not marrying Anya. That was probably the lowest point of the whole show.

Agreed...to be honest I didn't care for Xander at all...I think Jonathan would have been better being part of the Scooby gang than Xander.

As much as I loved the show, Buffy was by far my least favorite character on the show. In fact, most of the time I hated her guts. I could hang out with Xander and Willow, but I'd have to tune out Buffy all the time.
I definitely have to agree with you there. I watched the entire seven season run of Buffy in the space of two months, and from beginning to end, I liked and identified with all the other characters more (particularly Giles and Xander).

I love the show so much, but I have to agree. She was indeed my least favourite character. I just identified with all the others more. Well, she was fun in the first few seasons, but she got mopey later on.

Yeah. My problem is that she seemed to have this "I'm the Slayer and therefore entitled to moping" when the rest of the scooby gang was in many cases equally awful situations. Her being the Slayer meant that she didn't really have a choice, but her friends stayed out of free will, friendship and also a sense of duty.

Xander was one of the worse parts of the show IMHO. That is a funny story.
