So Worf was a yiddish speaking Klingon...

Without going through the entire episode again, did you have a particular sequence of dialog in mind?

:)

Come to think of it are there two better languages for insulting people than Yiddish and Klingon? Somehow the idea of Worf calling Tomalak a "schlemiel" would have been classic!

Of course, I've always been partial to Paul Sorvino's "mom always liked you best!" rant from that episode...

Intriguing thought, ElimGarak, but for those of us who don't remember episodes line by line, could you please be more specific.

Worf doesn't use any Yiddish expressions onscreen (and I very much wish he did!). I believe the idea originated in a Peter David YA novel, from a reasonable (but by no means conclusive) assumption about the family's background based on the Rozhenkos being played by Theodore Bikel and Georgia Brown.

That's correct. Pulled it out of my ass after reading that tidbit...Haven't watched that episode in a decade - but thought it was an intriguing and hilarious concept
