So who's liking the 2014 TARDIS console room?

Thinking.

Did she have swimming clothes?

Maybe it's because I'm very lazy, and a man, but when your swimming clothes and walking around clothes are identical... Why change?

Was she naked in the pool, or did she only have one set of clothes, and drip dried from the pool to the console room every day like a, um, savage?

And I like the concept of the '63 version better than the execution. That roundel wallpaper is kind of ridiculous.

I agree. In my mind's eye, despite the show's budgetary and stage space limitations, the '63 console room always has fully realized roundel walls, as well as that enormous "thing" suspended from above.

It is now forbidden to post pictures of a woman wearing a swimsuit? People who have made that ridiculous decision should be ashamed of themselves.

The pool too, which was Leela's oh-too-unseen hangout space in her alt-bikini. Sigh...

[empathy]Exactly how short a leash are you on?[/empathy]

This is me making some logical assumptions.

Ad revenue is determined by page hits and trafic.

A google ranking probably helps impress that you are credible.

Google has waveringly almost certainly decided that this is a filthy smut site that should not be found on it's general settings.

Safe search on.

Child lock on.

There is no Trekbbs.

Completely invisible until the safe search is turned off.

This will cause a massive dip in google rankings, popularity, page hits, traffic, walkinrandomsfreshblood and therefore money, until the site can't cover costs.

The Trekbbs either closes or is sold before it closes.

:(

So here's the sad truth.

A 30 year old BBC promotional picture of an actress that is completely within context of the conversation at hand...

Swimming in the swimming pool in the TARDIS and what people who live in the TARDIS wear in the swimming pool when they are swimming contextually doesn't amount to jack shit because Google looking at "our" BBS to make sure that we are not becoming a porn site is not going to read our posts to examine context, hell, they probably just have an unpaid intern monitoring a newsfeed reader pumping out all the pictures we post every day, and so, unfortunately & draconianly that is "strategically covered nudity" and therefore actionable.

It comes from Google. non-compliance could result in pulling the Ads, which would result in a lack of enough Revenue to keep the site open.

Provocative poses and "side Boob" have been cited as off limits

The TBBS staff aren't any happier with having to enforce it than posters are.

Address your complaints to a Mr. and Mrs. Google.

And what Sindatur said. We don't like it and find it just as ridiculous as you all do, but it's out of our control. We just have to be extra careful for the time being until we see if we're in compliance with their silly and contradictory rules. Hopefully, if we remain operational, things will get back to normal soon.

So Long, Droxine! We won't be seein' you around here any more. You should have known to keep that naughty navel covered..... like Mary Ann Summers and Jeannie did!

....I do understand what we are needing to do to 'keep out of trouble', but it seems that Mr. and Mrs. Google are welcoming us back to 1963! ;)

Anyway, getting back to the discussion about console rooms, here are a series of renders done by a fellow Poser artist, Alan Dempster, whose specialty he calls "Doctor Toon", DW themed images using figures with caricatured features. Mixing and matching props from various other sets (as well as modeling some of his own geometry), he's created a console and its associated room to look as though they were "grown" from Axonite, the living material from the Pertwee serial, "The Claws of Axos". You'll notice a 'toon version of the Master is in two of the images, which ties into the early 70s serial quite well.

I don't know about you, but I think it's a very clever idea!

That's definitely an interesting idea, although I think it would be a bit too organic looking for the regular TARDIS. That style with the lighting from the last pic, though, could be an interesting version of the room for The Master or another time lord.

I should have clarified that Alan likely did not mean for it to represent the Doctor's TARDIS, simply another time capsule, likely the Master's if he had outwitted the Axons.

Sincerely,

Bill

You are well aware of the policy by now. Do not post any more of these kinds of images or you will be given an infraction.

Sorry to interrupt the return to topic. :(

Received and understood.

Wait...are you talking about the two bikini shots of Peri? Are you friggin kidding me? I read the link to the rule change and neither of those shots violate the rule posted. Please tell me it's another post/picture that was pulled before I saw it.

Rule said:
- strategically covered nudity
It's a straight out bikini shot(s). Technically, every picture of every one is strategically covered nudity.
Rule said:
- sheer/see-through clothing
I couldn't see thru her bikini
Rule said:
- lewd/provocative poses
Provocative? To who? Typical cheesecake shots
Rule said:
- close-ups of breasts, buttocks, crotches
They were full length shots, no close ups.

We're playing it safe until we know we're out of the woods with Google. It's going to be very strict for a while, so it would be nice if we didn't have to argue every single request. We're not any happier about this than you guys are, but we have the unfortunate job of policing it for the time being.

Thank you to M.A.C.O. for your cooperation, by the way. It's appreciated. :)

I think how websites function will become more difficult as the FCC adopts Net Neutrality rules. When the big companies are behind a change, I think the customer should be very worried.

I am not aware of the photograph mentioned in which Louise Jameson appeared in a bikini. I do know that she had a wardrobe malfunction in "The Talons of Weng-Chiang". It would fall under one of the categories mentioned above.

As for the TARDIS control room, I haven't seen doors to other parts of the space ship. Are there doors? if so, are there pictures of the doors? The pictures I have seen of the room make it seem as if this was the only room aboard the ship.

You may find this link interesting, Lakenheath:

The TARDIS has a vast interior, but we have rarely see any of it apart from the Console Room, even back during the Classic Series. The "Willy Wonka" Console Room that Smith's Doctor started out with had noticeable stairways, but we rarely saw the doorways or hallways that the stairs lead to. Watching "The Doctor's Wife" or "Journey to the Centre of the Tardis" will show you some areas that you've never seen before.

.... And this article shows at least one door on the upper level of Capaldi's Console Room (first TARDIS photo):
