So who was waiting for Pike to "BEEP" at Kirk's award ceremony??

I was too amazed that they managed to take the TMP admiral's uniform and make it look respectable instead of looking like penguin pajamas.

I thought they were going there with the brain bug, like it was going to destroy his spinal cord or something.

But the thing is, the more we learn about stem cells and tissue regrowth, the less plausible any permanent injury in the far future becomes.

I sure was waiting for it to happen. A weird moment: When I saw him in the wheelchair, I got all giddy (which sounds sick, I know, ;) I just mean the nod to TOS here) and at the same time I suddenly became frightened they would actually have him beep. I was ready to crawl under my chair. Because that would've been just too much for a 2009 audience.

I said "BEEP" out loud when he shows up in the wheelchair, along with quite a few others in the theater. The IMAX crowds have been great so far.

Oddly enough, I didn't expect him to beep, but did think that the chair was indeed a nice nod to TOS. And I really liked seeing the TMP admiral uni.

Greenwood's Pike may be my favorite Starfleet captain to date, so, no I wasn't waiting for him to beep. He's too cool to leave paralyzed.

Also, I barely even registered the wheelchair the first time through. :p

I wonder if Pike will be the Admiral Kirk reports to when it comes to putting the Enterprise on mission assignments from Starfleet?

And Pike should stay off cadet training ships. It'ls hazardous to his health.

I was waiting for him to say..

"Beep beep your ass!!"

It could have been very cute or very stupid if after talking to Kirk, he spun around to leave and there were a few cadets in his way and he went "beepbeep".

Honestly I was floored that they had the balls to put Pike in the wheelchair. Loved loved LOVED it. My favorite shout-out to TOS fans, bar none.
