Apparently the Ridley Scott Alien prequel has been spun off into another project that won't feature the slobbering, mass-killing Xenomorphs. This leaves us devoid of any Alien projects in the near future. So what do we the fans think should become of this franchise?
Some potential options:
1. Nothing. Easy to produce and cheap too.
2. Another Alien vs. Predator. Third time is the charm?
3. Another Alien film set on a ship or in space. Creatures get loose, crew becomes lunch... somehow seems familiar and a bit tired though.
4. Aliens loose on a planet. This could be all kinds of fun. It didn't work well in AvP:R but that movie had a lot of problems that could not be overcome by the simple coolness factor of Xenomorphs take America.
5. Tying in another franchise. Jack Bauer vs. Aliens? Buffy the Alien Slayer? Aliens vs. Terminator? There's all kinds of possibilities and since we live in a universe perverse enough to bring us Snakes on a Plane (aka Samuel L. Jackson vs. muthafuckin' snakes) or Freddy vs. Jason, it would stand to reason that there are some crossover opportunities out there that might be crass commercialism at its worst but cheesy entertainment value at its best.
So, what say y'all? What should be next for our chestbursting friends?
