As there seems to be a cap on how many posts in a thread there are around here, here is part six of the epic series of "So what are you reading now?" threads.

Part five can be found here for a recap if you so wish.

After finishing Paths of Disharmony and really enjoying it I've decided to reread The Hobbit as I plan on rereading The Lord of the Rings at somepoint in the future.

you should reread the scimilarion on first before the hobbit if you're going to do it right. currently reading and loving star trek typhon pact zero sum game.

Right now I'm reading Pope Benedict's newest book Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week. Then on to New Frontier: Double or Nothing, then Watching the Clock. I'm very much looking forward to Watching the Clock.

Currently about halfway through TNG: Vendetta. Such a great book. On another note i found 4 boxfulls of trek novels (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY) for 5 bucks each. cant wait to dive into those.

FINALLY finished I.K.S. Gorkon: A Good Day to Die. Now that shows are finishing up their seasons, I'm determined to spend more time reading.

In the audio realm, I've made more progress. Got my first taste of Harry Dresden's world with Jim Butcher's Stormfront. Planning to download more of those. I've also been on another Pern binge, plowing through Dragonsdawn and All the Weyrs of Pern, and now in the middle of Dragonflight.

Finished reading Margaret Wander Bonanno's Unspoken Truth, which made me want to read more Romulan stories. I haven't read any of the Rihannsu series yet, so I just started on My Enemy, My Ally today.

I am just about to finish "Hellhole". Kevin J. Anderson and Brian Herbert's first non-Dune collaboration and I'm sorry to say that it's basically just a copy of their Dune work. I'm not quite sure they decided to write this book. After I finish I'll be moving on to "A President's Vampire" by Chris Farnsworth which is the sequel to "Blood Oath".

I was lucky enough to get my copy of Children of the Storm yesterday, and i'm diving right in. I've been waiting for this book since I read the last page of Unworthy in October 2009 :D

Probe?

As mentioned in this and another thread my GF grandmother passed away recently. She was a huge SCFI fans and left me her SCFI books.

One of them was the Star Trek Novel Probe. What are your opinions of this book?

So, it took me 3-4 days to get through the first ~175 pages of Children of the Storm. I picked it up again last night and finished in the wee hours of the morning.

I've got a bunch of Trek stuff backed up on my shelves so I'm diving into that again, as I do once or twice a year. Finished Losing the Peace yesterday, just started A Singular Destiny today and I've got all the Typhon Pact stuff followed by Watching the Clock and Children of the Storm which I just grabbed today.

It's a daunting amount of Trek, lemme tell ya.

I enjoyed it the first time I read it. It wasn't until a few years ago that I learnt the story behind it. Go to:

for Margaret's tale about it.

Wow, I didn't know that story before. What a tale! I just finished Unspoken Truth, and Strangers From the Sky was one of my favorite novels as a kid. I love MWB's writing, and I hope there are many more novels to come!
