Re-reading "Q-Squared" on the kindle. As with most Star Trek e-books, it is littered with errors and spacing issues.

I recently finished J.M. Dillard's novelization of The Undiscovered Country and Michael Connelly's City of Bones. I enjoyed the Dillard novelization, but there was an odd inconsistency. While using Chang as a viewpoint character, she has him fume over Kirk's treachery...but as a member of the conspiracy, he should know perfectly well Kirk played no part in the attack.

Finished Peter David's Vendetta a few days ago (link to the review in my signature), and I'm currently reading Christopher L. Bennett's Department of Temporal Investigations: Watching the Clock (and LOVING it!) as well as the non-fiction Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick.

I finally read "First Virtue" by MJF & CG. Still reading non-fiction. Read "Ecology in the 20th Century" by Anna Bramwell (1989) which is a somewhat discredited history which makes spurious connections between high ranking Nazis and Green politics. Now reading "The Green and the Brown" by Frank Uekoetter (2006) which casts aspersions on the previous book. Also read "Man's Search for Meaning" (Rev. & Updated) by Viktor Frankl (1984) which is a psychology classic. Currently reading "The Pursuit of Unhappiness" by Daniel M. Haybron (2008). Must read IDFM very soon. Or, I might get ST withdrawal symptoms. (Not talking about charge card of course!)

Just finished The Farther Shore. Overall I enjoyed the duology more than I expected to.

I also finished my audiobook of Renegade's Magic and have since also listened through Anne McCaffrey's Dragonsdawn (again). Now listening to All the Weyrs of Pern (again). ;)

Next on my catch-up list is I.K.S. Gorkon: A Good Day to Die. Only 36 books to go!

I'm currently reading Dream Park by Larry Niven and Steve Barnes. It's good so far. I played some D&D in college and this is definitely making me nostalgic for those all night game sessions. I also just started listening to Rendezvous with Rama. I'm sort of suprised that it's taken me this long to get around to it.

After slightly over four months, I'm done with Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle. Absolutely amazing piece of work on every level; worth every second.

    Next up: Mistborn trilogy.

^Or rather, two alternating duologies misleadingly billed as a tetralogy.

True, there isn't really a way to reconcile the TNG parts into the current continuity.

Luckily the Shatnerverse books (Spectre if I'm remembering correctly, don't have my book collection with me at the moment) reference the events from Vornholt's books so they aren't completely orphaned.

I read The Sea Wolf sixteen years ago, but I still remember it very well. It's a great book.

I think I'm going to start re-reading The Dark Tower series again...just to get in the mood for the next book in the cycle. I cannot tell you how excited I am about the news. A new Tower book, set in the middle of the epic journey, with all my favourite people in it? Boy howdy. Sometimes I think Stevie writes just for me. :p

Crisis on Centaurus. So far (only about 40 pages in) there's a lot to comment on - Poor Scotty's been retconned down into one of "the twins" along with a Manly Sue of an character named MacPherson. They're the miracle working Enterprise engineering duo.

I loved the look at a Centaurian spaceport at the beginning. The use of current-day brands (Coca Cola, American Express etc) and Tellarites made for a unique blend. French Fancs will have made a comeback by the late 2260's.

A neat suprise - a flashback to Kirk and McCoy's first meeting!

In the past month, I finished:

    - The Devil in Amber by Mark Gatiss,
    - The QI Book of Animal Ignorance by John Mitchinson and John Lloyd
    - Indistinguishable from Magic by David McIntee

    I've started reading:
    - why does E=mc^2? by Brian Cox & Jeff Forshaw
    - Black Butterfly by Mark Gatiss
and there's a few other books I'm in various stages of completion.
