So What Are you Reading?: Generations

I have about 20 pages of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's Good Omens left and then I'll be back to Trek books for a while. I never caught up with TNG because I started at Death in Winter and just sort of lost momentum - I'll probably start further along this time. I've got the Destiny trilogy sat on my desk actually. I should probably read that at some point 
I didn't take it to uni because it's so damn big, but I might have to if I'm going to make any headway.
Are the DS9 books doing well? I'm ashamed to admit I've not even kept up with whats happening through Memory Beta. And when is the next Voyager book out? I understand Kirsten will be hella busy at the moment, but I need more dammit! A sad part of my memory says it's probably going to be September.

The answer to the questio "when is the next Voyager book out?" is ALWAYS not soon enough.
You're right, though, it's september.
Giving the Rogue One Novelisation a go at the moment.
I'm reading Desperation by Stephen King.
im finally continuing the Star Trek: Prey series, with The Jackal's Trick.
Just finished "Ahsoka", not a great book, I hoped that it would span the 14 years between the Clone Wars and "Rebels".
Next book "Prey: Hell's heart"

About 2/3rd's the way through JJM's Prey Book 1 Hell's Heart .This is also happens to be my very first Star Trek novel to ever pick up and or read. After doing some research, I now realize this was probably a poor series to start my Star Trek Literature endeavor lol.
I must say, this is a very intriguing, intense and frankly impressive book. The twists and turns thus far are jaw dropping. I grew up with both watching TNG and DS9, hence I have an idea of what the characters are about.
A few questions. First, now that I've begun the Prey series and almost 1/3rd of the way in, do I continue reading this series and finish it ? Or do I finish this title first, stop and then retrace my steps ? Ultimately, I would like to begin reading in some kind of chronological order either TNG, DS9 or a combination of both. I've seen all the charts as I've been doing my research.
So, instead of directing me to one of the charts, which are absolutely awesome!!, I'd like some advice as to which titles to read to retrace my steps. I personally see myself finishing the Prey series first, just because I'm totally hooked, but afterwards, then what ??
I appreciate everyone advice and suggestions in advance!!!

I wish I knew what to tell you, but I haven't read TNG or DS9 fiction in years and back then, I didn't pay attention to canon. I was a teenager.

Just finished reading Janice Cantore's Cold Case Justice series.
Trek-wise, I'm waiting for the library to find a copy of Serpents In The Garden and buy The Face Of The Unknown and IDW's Star Trek:Ongoing last omnibus.
I didn't realize that my Christmas username had such an unflattering abbreviation. :P

LoL!--Speaking of the other Star verse, I am halfway done with James Luceno's Catalyst. A quick, in-depth and perfect appetizer for both Rogue One the movie and novelization. I have always enjoyed Luceno's writing style. Both him (Luceno) and JJM have a very unique, but addicting style of writing for the most part and I always seemed to get hooked 
It seems the IDW novel's get, overall, a fairly high/very positive review from the masses. What are the premise of these title ? and why do they seem to be so popular ?

Kelvinverse ones take place between the movies and show what they're doing then. They are written with the involvement (not sure how much) of the production team that made the movies, so they stay consistent with them.
Welcome aboard! I mostly write TOS books so I'm not going to be much help sorting out the TNG and DS9 books, but glad you're exploring the Trek books.
And feel free to check out the original series sometime.

Last night I finished a Sherlock Holmes pastiche by Val Andrews, Sherlock Holmes and the Yule-tide Mystery.
A client arrives at Baker Street. A recent acquaintance of the client, someone he barely knows, has invited him to an estate in Sussex to spend the holidays, plus he can bring guests, and he thinks this is exceedingly strange. Holmes advises the client to accept the invitation and he and Watson will be his guests.
I'm not making this up. That's genuinely all it takes for Holmes to take this "case." Now, it turns out there actually is a case, one involving a lost will, debts and financial ruin, 19th-century pornography, and a murder. But none of it is particularly involving, the characterizations are poor, and the story is superficial at best.
I haven't had any luck with mysteries of late.
