So What Are you Reading?: Generations

TNG Before dishonor, funniest Star Trek book I have ever read. I am face palming every Starfleet admiral that ever walked the earth.
I will preface this by saying that I had to look that one up (sorry, Mr. David) because, like Mr. Cox's short story about April's mercy mission to Tarsus IV, Before Dishonor had completely slipped my mind.

That said, I can't imagine how a story about Borg pushed to desperation could possibly be funny.

In Best Destiny, I just got past the point where Robert April and Geordie Kirk discussed Tarsus IV, and predictably, Carey took it as an opportunity for a (mercifully brief and mercifully moderate) hard-Libertarian diatribe.

About halfway through Shock Treatment by @Greg Cox . I thought I'd read all the CSI LV novels, but I'd apparently missed this one.

I have a funny story about that book. CBS initially rejected the outline because they thought the fictional TV series in the book, "Shock Treatment," was too far-fetched. There was no way, they argued, that a show like that would ever make it to air.

I pointed out that "Scare Tactics" was currently airing on Syfy and they withdrew the objection. :)

I didn't think of it as far fetched given some of the other shows I've seen - but I hadn't heard of Scare Tactics (I don't think it made it here). - At least it wasn't one of the shows that CBS had created (and then forgot about) when they made that argument:lol:

I finished reading Star trek TNG Hearts and minds by Dayton ward. I'm rereading book 1 of the Star trek Prey trilogy By John Jackson Miller

As some know, I am doing a chronological maiden voyage through the Lit Verse...

I have a compiled list that has DTI: Forgotten History across multiple dates. I am currently in 2275...

Is it good to read then, or when would be the most suitable time?

Dragon Sim-13 by Bob Mayer (almost finished), then I may check out the Interstellar novel by Greg Keyes.

I'm re-reading Enterprise The Good That Men do by Andy Mangels & Micheal Martin. I really wish we had a new Enterprise novel that is a sequel to Patterns of Interference by Christopher L. Bennett.

The German version of Force and Motion. Not very exciting and slow going. Maxwell is quite bland.....

Sorry, hope this is ok to post here.

Hi guys I'm new here and love trek in all it's many forms. But I have a question I have in my possession a signed dated copy of "A Stitch in Time" I even remember where I was when I met Garrak but I've be trying to see what it might be worth unfortunately I can't find any others like it anywhere. You guys got any ideas?

TITAN Sword of Damocles (its not engaging me, might drop this one)
I have to admit, that's my problem with most of the Titan novels.
If you think about dropping this one, to start the next, I can only warn you: It's just getting worse. Book 5 is one of the most boring novels, I've ever read. Just think about naked Riker and a fishgirl on an island - and nothing, absolutely nothing, happens.

I'm still reading the Worlds of Deep Space 9 series. Just finished book 2, Andor, last weekend, and now started book 3, Trill.
Although I'm just in the third chapter, it's already more interesting then Andor and Cardassia. The whole Trill/Parasites-story has a lot of potential, and was one of the best parts in DS9 Season 8.

Little Tasha is born. But no reaction whatsoever by Lwaxana. Even if someone dislikes the Daughter of the Fifth House, Lwaxana becoming a grandma should have been worth a page or so.

Okay, so inspired by @StefanM's lists I decided to compile a list of stuff that I plan to read:

Cross Cult:
  • ROTF: Uncertain Logic
  • DSC: Fear Itself
  • DSC: Drastic Measures
  • NF: No Limits
  • NF: After the Fall
  • NF: Missing in Action
  • NF: Treason
  • DS9: Sacraments of Fire
  • DS9: Ascendance
  • S31: Disavowed
  • DS9: Force and Motion
  • TNG: Armageddon's Arrow
  • TTN: Sight Unseen
I've already read some of these (the first two DS9 novels and I started After the Fall) but for the context of other stories I want to reread them (and I hope that the two DRG3 stories are better if read directly after each-other).

My chronological read-through includes:
  • VAN: The Stars Look Down
  • TOS: Cloak
  • ST: The Badlands, Part I
  • TOS: Ghost-Walker
  • VAN: What Judgments Come
  • TOS: The Starship Trap
  • TOS: First Frontier
  • TOS: One Small Step (& One Giant Leap)
  • TOS: Sanctuary
  • VAN: Storming Heaven
  • VAN: In Tempest's Wake
  • TOS: The Shocks of Adversity
  • TOS: Faces of Fire
  • TOS: Double, Double
So, I think I will alternate between the Cross Cult stuff and the 23rd century stuff.
  • VAN: The Stars Look Down
  • ROTF: Uncertain Logic
  • TOS: Cloak
  • DSC: Fear Itself
  • ST: The Badlands, Part I
  • DSC: Drastic Measures
  • TOS: Ghost-Walker
  • NF: No Limits
  • VAN: What Judgments Come
  • NF: After the Fall
  • TOS:The Starship Trap
  • NF: Missing in Action
  • TOS: First Frontier
  • NF: Treason
  • TOS: One Small Step (& One Giant Leap)
  • DS9: Sacraments of Fire
  • TOS:Sanctuary
  • DS9: Ascendance
  • VAN: Storming Heaven
  • S31: Disavowed
  • VAN: In Tempest's Wake
  • DS9: Force and Motion
  • TOS: The Shocks of Adversity
  • TNG: Armageddon's Arrow
  • TOS: Faces of Fire
  • TTN: Sight Unseen
  • TOS: Double, Double
Let's see how this will work. From what I've heard some of the TOS novels are pretty bad, so mixing it up with NF (even though later NF) will hopefully avoid the issue of me reading a bunch of bad novels in close succession. I already almost finished The Stars Look Down and am looking forward to Uncertain Logic.

Wow, Jinn, that's A LOT to read.
Have fun with it :)

My current reading-plan is:
WoDS9 books 3 - 6, the DS9 Season 9 books 1 - 3.

Parallel, I'm always reading a novel with my son.
At this time, we are reading Typhon Pact book 6, this will be followed by book 7. After Typhon Pact, he wants to hear Corps of Engineers, before we go to The Fall.
