I will preface this by saying that I had to look that one up (sorry, Mr. David) because, like Mr. Cox's short story about April's mercy mission to Tarsus IV, Before Dishonor had completely slipped my mind.TNG Before dishonor, funniest Star Trek book I have ever read. I am face palming every Starfleet admiral that ever walked the earth.
About halfway through Shock Treatment by @Greg Cox . I thought I'd read all the CSI LV novels, but I'd apparently missed this one.
I have a funny story about that book. CBS initially rejected the outline because they thought the fictional TV series in the book, "Shock Treatment," was too far-fetched. There was no way, they argued, that a show like that would ever make it to air.
I pointed out that "Scare Tactics" was currently airing on Syfy and they withdrew the objection.![]()
That said, I can't imagine how a story about Borg pushed to desperation could possibly be funny.
TITAN Sword of Damocles (its not engaging me, might drop this one)
I have to admit, that's my problem with most of the Titan novels.TITAN Sword of Damocles (its not engaging me, might drop this one)
I have to admit, that's my problem with most of the Titan novels.
If you think about dropping this one, to start the next, I can only warn you: It's just getting worse. Book 5 is one of the most boring novels, I've ever read. Just think about naked Riker and a fishgirl on an island - and nothing, absolutely nothing, happens.
I'm still reading the Worlds of Deep Space 9 series. Just finished book 2, Andor, last weekend, and now started book 3, Trill.
Although I'm just in the third chapter, it's already more interesting then Andor and Cardassia. The whole Trill/Parasites-story has a lot of potential, and was one of the best parts in DS9 Season 8.
