Kirk and Riker couldn't move for hot alien chicks. Geordi couldn't get a date.
Well i think Kirk set a precedent for all of starfleet, he was carrying young doctors back to his quarters after christmas parties LONG before Geordie had a chance with Gomez.
I think the real issue here is that Geordi's only real love was the enterprise, and his holodeck love affairs were more a product of the ship than that of anyone in real life.

Memory Beta says that her husband died during the events of the Genesis Wave novels.
So I guess Geordi's off the hook, then, but only if he waited a respectably long enough time before putting the moves on Leah.
If she ever forgave him for that holographic Leah incident...
Weren't LaForge and Brahms both able to finally laugh about it at the end of Galaxy's Child?

Not that the novels or memory beta are in any way shape or form canon.
And they never use her last name when Geordi mentions "Leah", so, its a pretty big assumption that it is Leah Brahms.
Over the years, I've been involved with three women with the same first name. So, I think the chances are just as good either way that it is or is not Leah Brahms.
Respectable to Geordi might mean NOT tripping on the casket while leaping over it at the funeral trying to get at her with a violinist in tow.

Okay, so he wasn't stalking Christy Henshaw but the holodeck program he wrote for her was terrific. The violinist was the cherry on top.
Again, not stalking but a succinct way to sum up how unlucky in love he was.

Anyway, since it's heavily implied that he drained her antimatter containment pods offscreen in Transfigurations, no harm no foul.
