So, this 'Babylon 5' thing better be good...

Okay, I decided to watch some more of Season 1. I watched Parliament of Dreams and started The War Prayer last night. They were even better than I'd expected.

I'm still not sold on watching the ones like Born to the Purple and Infection that people keep panning. So far I like it. It's got some flashes of brilliance, but typical "finding its way" Season 1 things. It's also fun to see the 90s hair, props and CGI. I'm having a bit of nostalgia.

I actually like "Infection" quite a bit. Reminds me of a good ol' Trek TOS story. And I love those sleek rifles.

If you skip Born to the Purple you won't know who a character is down the road when he/she/it doesn't appear but then does appear later. :p

Okay, but you do realize that if they suck I'm going to come looking for you, right?
Now, now...remember, I didn't insist that you watch 'Infection'. :p I like it but it was the first one written so of necessity the 'growing pains' are a little more obvious. I stand by BttP, though, as it's a classic example of how things on B5 get seeded early on and pay off *way* down the line. Without, I might add, the frustration of say, Lost, which went too long without answering the questions it raised.

PS: As for coming for me, remember that I've been certified insane by the Great Maker hisownself.

Infection, some good, lotta bad. Parliament, the first good representative episode of the series. War Prayer, terrible.

Is that the episode with the tight shoes speech? It's a nice scene but that's 2 minutes out of 44 otherwise bad ones ;)

There's that but there's also the scene where
he named his three wives: Pestilence, Famine and Death. Which left Londo to be the fourth horseman of the apocalypse: War

It's the sort of thing one wonders about at the time but doesn't understand until much later.

Plus when we actually get to meet his wives, we can see that the names are indeed appropriate.

I can certify that myself. :p

Me? Apologize? Never!!
OKay, but you are sooo not allowed to complain about your shoes being too tight or that you've forgotten how to dance. ;)

BTW... you might want to check out the S1 episode called "Legacies", because of a certain character for whom a certain moderator is named.

You can certify that he certified me or you can certify me yourself? Do you issue a certificate of certification? And how do I know that you're reliably certified so that your certification is certificate-worthy?

Already saw that one last night.

Yeah, I saw the Wikipedia article about that one. :)

I hope tha tarticle didn't spoil too much for you about the character.

Have you seen the episode "Mind War" ? In it, G'Kar gives what I consider to be the simplest yet most complete theme for the entire series: "No one here is exactly what he appears." That applies to the character of Neroon as well.
