So... there's really nothing coming out this Summer is there?

What are the big movies this Summer? I don't think there's really any. I can think of only 2 or 3 movies this Summer that are "must sees" for me as compared to being one nearly every week last year and the year before.

Was Hollywood just exhausted from several years of big summer releases and decided to phone this year in?

I mean, Marmaduke, Cats and Dogs, what is there to go see this summer? Right now I'm thinking of A-Team and Toy Story.

That's. About. It.

Hell, I might just go see Twilight for the entertainment value.

Nope. I didn't even really like Iron Man 2. I don't even see anything I want to see later this year. Weak year for movies.

I agree. Eclipse is actually starting to look pretty good. I feel like I'm drunk in a bar and Eclipse is a homely girl I wouldn't ordinarily bother with but........

I just kind of want to "experience" the Twilight "experience." Out of morbid curioisity. Oh! Do you think Edward will sparkle in 3D?! One I will not miss is the next Twilight movie in theaters what-with all of the vagina and birth canal carnage. Be interesting to see how they pull it off.

But, seriously, looking at a list of this Summer's movies there's really nothing huge coming out. I mean the big July 4-weekend has The Last Airbender and Twelve? WTF?!

Where's the action? Where's the wars, the aliens, the superheroes, the awesome? Hell, what's this Summer's "The Hangover" or "Tropic Thunder" what's the big R-Rated adult comedy? What gives this year?!

It does look like a pretty dull summer for movies. Iron Man 2 was good, but that's already past.

I'll probably check out Predators. Hey, I saw both AvP movies in theatres, so I have no excuse for missing this one. I'm still undecided about The A-Team. Otherwise, I have no interest in any of the movies this summer.

May
Iron Man 2
Robin Hood
Sex and the City 2
Shrek Forever After

June
The A-Team
The Karate Kid
Toy Story 3

July
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
The Last Airbender
Predators
Inception

August
The Expendables

I won't be goin' to see all of 'em, but I imagine its what the big movies will be...

Yeah, there really aren't any HUGE movies this summer like their normally are. I think Iron Man 2 is probably the biggest one.

Is Prince of Persia out? Is it ever going to be out? I feel like I've been seeing the same damn preview of that movie for the last year and a half!

You kind of have to wonder what happened. I mean, yeah, Hollywood is rather formulaic and predictable, but this selection is bland even by that standard. A string of sequel movies, a couple of remakes and live action adaptations, and... nothing? None of the expected genres or blockbuster bait in sight. Was there another Writer's Strike we weren't told about or something? After last summer, this is quite a letdown.

Extremely weak summer movie schedule this year. Iron Man 2 was the only one of the real big films coming out and that was a disappointment.

I'm looking forward to Inception the most, it being an original blockbuster considering it's not a remake, a sequel, or a franchise picture. Plus, it's a Christopher Nolan movie, and everything I've heard about the film gets me more and more excited every time I hear about it.

Other than that, I'm mostly indifferent to the rest of the movies coming out this summer. I have no interest in Robin Hood, regardless of the fact that it is a Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe movie, and I gave up on the Shrek franchise after Shrek 2. I will see Sex and the City 2 out of curiosity since I enjoyed the series and the first movie, even though I don't really have a huge desire to see further adventures of that universe.

The A-Team looks like your typical mindless summer diversion, and while I'm not anticipating it, I will see Toy Story 3 for nostalgia sake since I have fond memories of those movies. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse does look interesting, and I'll probably see that out of curiosity mostly because of David Slade's involvement as director. Slade directed the fantastic Hard Candy and the solid 30 Days of Night. I have no desire to see The Last Airbender, but Predators does look interesting. The Expendables is definitely a must-see, even though it'll likely just be more of the same (i.e. mindless fun).

Summer 2011 looks a lot more interesting, with The Green Hornet in January (regardless of the bad hype, I'm intrigued), Scream 4 in April, Thor in May, X-Men: First Class (the fact that it's a collaboration between Matthew Vaughn and Bryan Singer has me stoked) in June, Green Lantern also in June, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in July, Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens also in July, Contagion in October, and Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible IV in December, not to mention Duncan Jones' next film Source Code also out sometime in 2011.

Yeah, 2011 looks a lot better in comparison.

It's a blockbuster already, huh?

What PR department are you working for? :p

Nolan's last non-Batman movie, the excellent The Prestige, wasn't a hit.

Though, DiCaprio has some star power. (Though I'll be seeing it for Nolan, as I don't especially like Leo.)

Anyway, not thrilled about this summer's crop. Predators might be good, I don't expect it to be a big hit.

SOLOMON KANE will apparently never be released.

May
Iron Man 2 - seen it
Robin Hood - won't see it.
Sex and the City 2 definitely won't see it.
Shrek Forever After - likely won't see it. (I'm over Shrek)

June
The A-Team - certainly will see it.
The Karate Kid - nope
Toy Story 3 - definitely will see it

July
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - likely will se it for "entertainment value" in the crowd.
The Last Airbender - yawn
Predators - yawn
Inception - may see it

August
The Expendables - nah.

I won't be goin' to see all of 'em, but I imagine its what the big movies will be...

Out of 16 weeks of the Summer movie season and to only have 12 movies to list, most of which I've no interest in seeing is pretty sad.

Like I said, the last two Summers there was something out every week I wanted to see.

It's a blockbuster summer movie. That's what I meant.

Nolan's last non-Batman movie, the excellent The Prestige, wasn't a hit.

It did respectable numbers. Then again, it didn't have a budget nearly as high as the one for Inception, and it wasn't released in the summer and marketed as a big summer blockbuster movie.

About the only one I'm even remotely interested in is The A-Team, and I'll most likely wait for the DVD on that.

There's at least one big one for each month. I plan on seeing Toy Story 3 and maybe the A-Team in June, and Inception in July. I'll be seeing Robin Hood soon, but I'm just not sure about Shrek since the last one was terrible. They really soured me on the last one with all the poop jokes.

Inception is what I have my hopes set on for the summer, along with Toy Story 3.

Predators is a dark-horse candidate that could be good. Knight and Day is my other dark-horse that could be good.

Everything else I think will pretty much be exactly what it appears to be. I'll have fun with the A-Team and Expendables, Airbender will have some cool effects.

Nolan's last non-Batman movie, the excellent The Prestige, wasn't a hit.

Maybe not, but it was still a hella cool movie. I went to see it in theaters, and as soon as it was over, I wanted to watch it again.

That doesn't happen too often for me.

The A-Team comes out on my birthday, so it's a must. I already saw Iron Man 2. Toy Story3 I will see, I like the Toy Storymovies. Robin Hood I will probably wait for Netflix. Inception looks good,so I don't know, it's a pisibility. Looks like that's about it. The Last Airbebder is a maybe. I will see Inception before I see Airbender.I'm looking foward yo Captian Anerica and Green Lsntern and Thor.
