So... there's really nothing coming out this Summer is there?

Seen Iron Man. We'll be seeing Prince of Persia next week I think. The week after that there's the A-Team if I remember correctly.

We'll also go and see Expendables and Predator but I haven't heard of much else for the gang yet. Knight and Day may be fun but I'm not particularly bothered about Robin Hood.

There is another film due out for august that I'll go and see, but it won't be considered one of the blockbusters.

I'm interested in seeing The A-Team, Predators, Inception, The Expendables, and Machete (if those last two count as summer).

Summer 2011 looks a lot more interesting, with The Green Hornet in January (regardless of the bad hype, I'm intrigued), Scream 4 in April, Thor in May, X-Men: First Class (the fact that it's a collaboration between Matthew Vaughn and Bryan Singer has me stoked) in June, Green Lantern also in June, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in July, Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens also in July, Contagion in October, and Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible IV in December, not to mention Duncan Jones' next film Source Code also out sometime in 2011.

Yeah, 2011 looks a lot better in comparison.

And the new Planet of the Apes flick. :techman:

I'm certainly interested in seeing some of the movies coming out this summer, but there isn't a whole lot that screams "Summer Blockbuster" like we normally have this time of year.

I miss the days of Armageddon and ID4!

May
Iron Man 2
Robin Hood
Sex and the City 2
Shrek Forever After

June
The A-Team
The Karate Kid
Toy Story 3

July
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
The Last Airbender
Predators
Inception

August
The Expendables

I won't be goin' to see all of 'em, but I imagine its what the big movies will be...

Yikes, pretty pathetic list. I might check out Inception, but I dunno, it has Can't Live Up to the Hype written all over it.

^there's also Prince of Persia which is Disney's attempt at another Pirates-like francise but damn it looks sooo generic & boring!

The only thing Ill be watching is Toy Story 3. Nothing else interests me so far, aside from A-Team but that's only b/c of Sharlto Copley, so Ill just wait to get it from Netflix.

Saw Iron Man 2 = B
Saw Robin Hood = B

As another said they listed 12 films in a 16 week summer my calendar looks fairly similar. Here is what I marked on my Entertainment Weekly pull out schedule of
To See:
IM:2-check
RH-check
Agora, May 28 Rachel Weisz trying to save records at Library of Alexandria under a seige
Prince of Persia, May 28 my Memorial Day weekend is going to be sandy
A-Team, June 11
Jonah Hex, June 18
Toy Story 3, June 18
T Saga: Eclipse, June 30 hell I got drug to the first two and this one is wolves vs vamps, mini Underworld going on hopefully
Last Airbender, July 2
Predators, July 9
Salt, July 23
Expendables, Aug 13

I have a tentative around Cairo Time(Aug.6), want to hear more about it.

Don't see they hype with Inception at all. It's going to be way too over the top and cerebral for the popcorn brainless summer set. At best its counter programming, don't see it breaking out, should've been a Fall release.

The only things that interest me are Toy Story 3 (cause it's Pixar and I love the Toy Story films), Inception (really intrigued by the trailers and it's from Nolan), Predators (Rodriguez's involvement and the concept hooked me in) and the Expendables (Stallone and a who's who of action stars, gotta see it, though where are Van Damme and Seagal?).
I was on the fence for Iron Man 2 but I heard too many negatives to bother spending money on it if I can catch it later on DVD/cable. So yup it's a pretty quiet summer for me. But I get to save some money in the meantime as I wait for 2011.

There are really only two movies I'm really anxious to see this summer, Toy Story 3 and Inception. Other than that, I can take it or leave it.

It's 80s-nostalgia-a-lula this year: The A-Team, Predators and The Expendables. Hell even Prince of Persia cuz I first played on Apple IIe waaaaaaay back in 88!

May

When you say 'get a blu ray' or 'set of blu ray' are you saying your just going to blind buy them? Netflix them, your out more cash if you outright buy what you don't see in theaters.

Some of the best TV and movies I own I bought "blind" on DVD/Blu-ray. :techman:

We don't have Netflix in the UK and I already subscribe to Sky Movies. Anything I would to get from a Netflix-like service I can get on demand via Sky Player or record on my Sky+ box. No HD on Sky Player but that's not a big deal for me.

Where I've said I'd get a Blu-Ray I would just blind buy it. I have a large DVD/Blu-Ray collection and a lot of it is blind buys. The advantage of not having a social life is that I have money to spend on these things. :)

As far as Toy Story goes, it wouldn't be a completely blind buy as I have seen the first two and, going on Pixar's track record, I don't really recall them making a bad movie I wouldn't want to see at least once. I don't think they're capable of making such a bad movie that it would put me off the first two.

Whatever works for you guys I suppose.

I just know that if I say I'm not going to see it in the theater for $11 my curiosity will let me Netflix it for around a $1or2. Blind buying it out of curiosity, even week of release for $15/16 only puts more money in the studios pocket than had I gone to the theater in the first place.
