So the Regeneration limit jumps from 12 to 507...? SJA SPOILERS

I figured that rtd had written most of the dialogue etc, but the only reason I asked was because rtd said that for elevens scenes in tennants finale moffat would write the lines cos smith was moffats doctor, just wondered if that had carried over.

I think Moffat writing the Eleventh Doctor's lines in The End of Time was more just a passing the torch gesture on RTD's part than anything else. I don't think Moffat was required, or that he demanded it. I think RTD just thought it would be a nice way thing to do.

Okay kids, place yer bets! How long can we keep this fight going?

I for one am massively entertained. I hope that Russell is reading it and "hooting."

Davies wanted no part in the creation of a new Doctor, having already created two of them! And he promised to leave the Doctor wherever Moffat wanted him.

Quitely plotting away in his mountain base home in Swansea.

*typing*

"BWAHAHAHA! And the next line the doctor is going to say...."

"Remember that night we spent together Master? Oh hoho you certainly lived up to your name"

*Throws up*

What if they invest all this story effort, starting with this throwaway line, in explaining the new, 507 limit, then they pull the rug out and kill him at 13 anyway? bwahahahahaha!

Why is no-one counting the regeneration in The Stolen Earth / Journey's End? Did I miss something? Not that it matters much, of course, but should the show's creators opt to run with the limit of 12 regens starting with Hartnell, then they should really count it in.

It wasn't a proper regeneration. Or canon.

Got to disagree; It was only the Doctor's severed hand that changed anything. As someone once pointed out, if it doesn't count towards the limit then it should be standard procedure for Time Lords to lop off a body part every time they regenerate.

Of course, it may be that the event was eaten by the cracks and stayed gone. :)

Yes. And yet some people don't understand why I hold Russell in such disregard.

Yeah, that'll do nicely.

I heard that in Season Five of SJA, Sarah Jane is going to ask the Doctor if that used up a regeneration, and he's going to answer, "It did. Two."
