so the Daily show when Obama is (if) President

yes the whole PC nature of TV comedy when it comes to both women & black people, could be an issue.

I don't see why. There's plenty of racial humour on The Daily Show - Stewart makes jew-jokes all time, he might have to use the "senior black correspondent" a little more though. ;)

I really don't think Stewart cares much about PC.

Every politician can and does provide comic fodder. But when Bush goes, the boom times for Stewart et al go with him...
two words to solve that

Boris Johnson

And if you were talking about The Late Show, and not The Daily Show, you might be right, but since The Daily Show is American, I don't think they'll really give a shit about Boris.

And I can believe they'd vote out Red Ken, and who else was there to go with, really? Hell, I'd have wanted Ken gone, so I guess I'd have gone for Boris (at least as second preference), too, but I live north of Watford, so I don't exist either.

And will Colbert snag an interview (not a gag like the Clinton/Edwards/Obama gig a few weeks ago, but an actual interview) out of any of them? Methinks not, but we shall see....
Colbert is a dangerous interview for someone running for president. He is quite often a disturbingly slick talker who can get people to say things they normally wouldn't and shouldn't. The only way I can picture any of them going on is with an overly scripted or pre-taped interview, which kind of defeats the purpose.

btw, I loved it that The Daily Show mentioned the Austrian Chancellor last night - as part of the "cool club" of politicians that Bush doesn't want to be a part of, great choice. :D
Stewart should do more of that for his foreign audience. ;)

John's a comedian. Whenever a politician makes an ass out of himself, he'll be there. He'll make a joke out of it, and beat it like the proverbial dead horse until something even more funny comes along.

I think Howard Dean's whole campaign unraveled over a single excited outburst.

yes I expect some good comedy form Larry if Obama becomes President.

I dont get jew jokes, they arnt known in the UK like they seem to be in New York

I'm kind of surprised it airs outside the US, it just seems like the humor is so Americentric(word?) .

There's a sort of "Best of the week" episode that airs on CNN called The Daily Show Global Edition, and here in the UK the show itself airs a at 8pm on a digital channel.

How can you not get the Jew jokes, and say you love American culture? Tons of American comedy plays on the same sort of jokes.

That being said, I can't wait for the first movie to be made in which McCain is president. A role tailor made for Michael Hogan.

Well, going with a Seinfeldian theory here, John can make Jew Jokes because he IS a jew. So, yeah, for them to make "black jokes" at Obama's expense come January they'll have to make more use of the Senior Black Correspondent because John may not easily get away with many Black Jokes.

;)

President Obama will be fair game for criticism and mockery too.

I don't think the Daily Show will give him a free pass simply because he's a Democrat.

I recall a segement dealing with that, I think it was Larry & John, saying nigger alot, and the different reaction.

they might as well promote Larry to Black Presidental Correspondent
