So Tell Me about Maine

I've got a chocolate Lab, male, just turned a year old....We've taken several obedience classes with him and he's mostly under control.
A 1 year old lab that is mostly under control? :wtf: :guffaw: :guffaw: Sorry but having raised labs, and I currently have a lab / great dane mix, I have never known a lab that was controllable until after the brain fair visits them around 2 years of age and gives them their brains.

Notice how I said mostly! He's nuts at the park and gets a case of the crazies sometimes. But he's good on a leash, in the car, in public, etc. He comes when called, sits, stays, etc. He doesn't take his food until told and doesn't immediately wolf down something dropped on the floor. Doesn't get on the furniture. Rarely chews on what he shouldn't. Etc...

We've been through the full series of classes a Pet Smart, read a few books on training, and have worked with him regularly. We basically just wanted a good dog we can take anywhere and that isn't menace.

Oh I got this picture today. some folks in the south may enjoy it.

Was that before or after you peed on it?
Never. Though I can think of some folks who would love to. Then again those are the same folks who are pissed at him but who give JEB Stuart a free pass for screwing up that day which caused the entire chain of events. This man defined a gentleman and a scholar. At Appomatax, when the confederates were surrendering, it was he who ensured that the Union forces saluted the confederates as they surrendered, treating them with dignity and respect. When he was a general and Maine had some serious election troubles and it looked like things were about to explode, he with his forces took action to maintain the peace and allow the courts to sort things out, despite the temptation to take over.

Today Im heading down to Rye NH to see a friend. My toes are still frozen.

Its pretty up here, but its also desolate except for Portland. Id like to see this place in July though.
