So, should I watch...

Don't go around asking a question that you obviously know the answer to.

If you need to be convinced to see a movie, you probably shouldn't be going to see it in the first place.

There's very few things I'll watch purely for the name. Isn't that the point of trailers and posters and all pre-release stuff, to win the potential audience over?

Sometimes a great film can have a terrible trailer (or vice versa) so I wanted some personal perspectives to see if it'd be worth the watch, and as some pointed out, I wouldn't necessarily need to see the solo films for it to make sense.
And sometimes a sequel in a franchise can be very different in tone and quality from its predecessor, so same reason I asked applies..

Do you like superhero movies? Maybe you just don't enjoy like the genre.

I love the X-Men films, Green Lantern (I know I'm in a small minority there) and I enjoyed the Blade films.

I really liked Green Lantern.

I am primarily a DC comics fan and never got into Marvel too much, but I love the movies based on their characters.

If you haven't enjoyed the first two films in Nolan's Dark Knight series, why bother watching the last one? Save yourself some time and watch something you think you might enjoy instead of forcing yourself to watch something just because it's popular. If you don't like The Dark Knight you won't like The Dark Knight Rises.

I disagree. I found The Dark Knight needlessly dark and depressing, and while The Dark Knight Rises does follow in that vien, I thought it was the better film of the two.
And here's a movie that's shorter than both and far, far more pleasant and uplifting:

And, unlike TDKR, there's no arguing that it passes the Bechdel Test. :bolian:
