So Like 20" of snow by Saturday afternoon

We may get more than a foot in northern Maryland. I'm sure there won't be any toilet paper, milk, or bread to be found in the county by this evening.

Do people normally flip out like that when it's gonna snow a lot?

I never saw people do that in Indiana. Then again, we'd just trudge through it anyway.

We're supposed to get around 5 inches in Northern Virginia.
Locals are forecasting 6-12 inches.

Aw yeah.

It doesn't matter with either forecast. People are going to freak. This isn't Buffalo where the schools stay open after a 3-foot snowstorm. Scores of people are to swarm Walmarts and Home Depots to buy snow shovels, as if they somehow lost theirs after last winter.

Me...I'm going to hunker down in the nice warm DC condo with my fiancee, looking out the balcony which oversees part of the Rock Creek Park :)

I'm going to do the same thing, but in Chinatown.

Snow fall in TN means one thing: BEER RUN!

Fuck water, fuel for portable heaters if the power goes out, batteries for flashlights, gotta get them 24 pack of Silver Bullet. When I took the wife to work this morning, they were already lining up at the store to buy beer and junk food.

Funny you say that, I just went to the store and bought toilet paper :D

I got the bread yesterday :p

Lovely, I've got a Saturday noon-time flight. Boston to Atlanta. At least it's a direct flight, and I'm not trying to catch something in the middle, as both areas are supposed to be ok when i come through...

Last night Washington DC was 5-8 inches, it's now over 12. The New England station has 1-2 feet for most of the major cities. He's saying 2-3 inches an hour. He's predicting 0-12 inches for my area.

I'm going to be pissed if the mid Atlantic has a white Christmas and that southern New England doesn't. I'll live in like a 20 mile band that will not have any snow! Grrrr....!

You lot are so lucky, here in the UK people are getting exited by a massive two centimetres of snow. A snowy christmas would be so nice.

No, they flip out like that when it's going to snow at all. :vulcan:

Great. It shifted. Ah well, could be fun, though I would have preferred it came last night so I could have skipped work today.

Gotta remember to park on a side street tonight. Goddamned snow emergency routes.

The Winter Storm Watch has been replaced by a Winter Storm Warning. It says 5-10 inches "with some greater accumulations locally, especially in and around southern Maryland."

This is probably going to screw with my attempt to meet a friend to see Boondock Saints 2 tomorrow...

The schools up here flip out, way too finicky, woke up at 6:30am to get ready to take my niece to school and found out they went ahead and canceled school for today, and it wasn't even snowing yet, snow didn't start until 10 AM, they coulda gone for a couple hours at least, and the roads really weren't that bad until now at 1 PM, the snow is sticking now, really big flakes and starting to come down thick.

On the news once they showed someone who had 6 gallons of milk and that's it before it snowed. I can't leave my house for 12 hours! I need four months supply of milk!!!!
