Well, I finished the book. What a well-rounded collection of solidly-written short stories that was. It had something for everyone, as I suspect may indeed have been an aim among the writers. There wasn't a single entry I found lacking in any significant way, and it managed to get me interested in a few series I'd never have gotten involved with otherwise, like S.C.E. -- again, I suspect there was a goal there.
I just picked up Armin Shimerman's "The 34th Rule" from my local used book store for a steal of a price at just fifty cents. It sounds good. Kind of an odd choice for a second entry, perhaps, but I couldn't resist.
