So did Sisko accidently "create" the Pah-Wraiths?

This idea has probably been mentioned before, but...

A schism formed between those aliens called Prophets and those called Pah-Wraiths, which we were led to assume happened in the distant past. BUT, the wormhole aliens had no concept of linear time, so it's possible the split wound up affecting the past first. Sisko was the first corporeal being to contact the Prophets. Sisko's meeting of the Prophets may have caused the split between those who sought to observe Bajor (or corporeal life in general) and those who wished direct intervention (beyond revenge, the Pah-Wraith's motivations are murky) . The orbs were also a result of Sisko's contact.

It's quite possible Sisko's first contact not only created the wraiths, but created the Bajoran religion and the circumstances of his own birth.

An interesting idea. The thing about the Prophets realizing they need to make sure Sisko gets born AFTER they first meet him was mentioned somewere in the Relaunch (I think it was Warpath).

At first I was going to say 'of course not, the Pai-Wraths were around long before Sisko arrived,' and then I remembered - the Prophets are non-linear. It's possible they were a schism amongst the Prophets caused by the appearance of Sisko in the wormhole, or perhaps even because he joined them in the finale and introduced all these different ideas - he arrives, the split happens, and the exiles become the Pai-Wraiths. The mind boggles...

I went into this thread thinking "Well that's a stupid-" but then I read the opening post, and it's actually a neat idea. I hadn't thought of it, but I suppose it's possible. And it would certainly make the story idea that the prophets wanted to be sure that The Sisko would be born as a result and made it happen themselves fit even better. Interesting, interesting.
