SNW prop auction

F. King Daniel

If you want to own a piece of Strange New Worlds, Disco or SFA here's your chance. Probably some hints to season 4 and 5 SNW episodes among this stuff.

These are for sure some obscure pieces. And I wish they would have spent a little more effort on cataloguing where each individual piece originated. The way that auction website is built it’s not even obvious which show these pieces even come from.

I’m also wondering if the more prominent and more recognizable items will just come in later auctions. Because surely this can’t be all they got from the Strange New Worlds set.

It's intriguing that we're going in the reverse direction from the big 2006 auction, where the big-ticket items were the first to be sold by Christie's, then whatever was left in the vaults trickled out from It's a Wrap over a period of years.

My instinct here is that they're clearing out the non-essential set pieces that don't make financial set to keep in storage. The key assets of the Enterprise sets may still be on a fold-and-hold order from the studio while the show is still in post-production.

Yeah, I’m thinking they transported the more desirable items back to the US by truck so that they can sell them through a Propstore auction. They have to know certain items will fetch a lot more money if shipping is available.

The noticeable absence of anything significant from SNW has me raising an eyebrow. :vulcan:

They're usually mostly bulk items (uniforms for the extras, cups, wine glasses, plates, boots, etc.). Just stuff that's lying around and taking up space.
