Snow... Snow? Snow!!!!!!

It started to snow here in Oslo yesterday, but most of it is gone now though.

Ugh, I absolutely hate the winter :p

We're expected to get quite a bit of rain this weekend. Should be fun since we haven't had much lately.

I grew up in Northwestern Ontario, and we used to have snow by mid-October every year. Halloween costumes were always made to fit overtop of snowsuits. Now for about the last 6-8 years there's been no snow until around mid-December, with one or two green Christmases.

I live on the west coast of BC now, and we only get snow about every three years. Last year I think we had about 10 minutes worth in January...

Try Florida. Snow? If and when it should happen to fall here again, I promise you, people will behave as those Armageddon is upon them.

worst thing is that nobody had time to swap out their tires. and with summer tires you have no traction whatsoever. its like a freaking ballet show over here.

nearly took a semi head on this morning.... unbelievable

Fresno rarely ever gets snow. Ever. And like most of CA right now, it’s sunny and in the mid 70s (that’s 70 F).

In the valleys of CA, you have to go visit the snow where it lives, in the mountains (UP to the snow, DOWN to the beach).

Plus, England falls apart when the first flakes fall - airports are closed, schools are shut down, we run out of grit for the roads...it's embarrassing.
It snows in England? I thought that all you had was the occasional ash showers from burning alien corpses?

Doctor Who makes it seem like snow in England is as rare as an intelligent cast member on Jersey Shore.

No, but in England it went from summer warm to winter cold overnight.

Tell me about it.

Two weeks ago, we were in the middle of an Indian Summer with temperatures of 24C, last weekend it was subzero overnight and I had to use de-icer on my car windscreen in the morning.

The upside is getting to wear overcoats again, and pulling out the 3-piece suits. For now, the novelty of being able to wear fun stuff like that again is outweighing the cold. :mallory:

We haven't had anything stick yet, but there's definitely been a couple light snowfalls here. It's usually not until November that we get anything that actually accumulates.

suit.... fun stuff.... :wtf: Sorry, I think you broke this engineer's brain.

We had a lot of hail yesterday. We usually start to get snowball by October 31st where I am.

It's been quite a while since I've been to the snow. My parents used to take us every winter to go play, just stop off the side of the road in a nice looking spot or stay at a campground. It was so much fun!! Since I moved out I haven't really had a reason or opportunity to go, I really should this year!

(emphasis mine)

I like the way your mind works... ;)

No worries, I feel the same way when I think about engineering. :D

I'm really going to hate it when the snows starts , I work in a building with no heating and because of the uniform rules I can't put on any extra layers.

The OP is SO lucky! I'm green with envy...

** crossing fingers and toes for lots and lots of snow this year **
