Snow in New Orleans...

msbae

Commodore
So, I wake up with a sore throat and go into the Kitchen for some Chloroseptic. (sp?) I notice my parents and younger sister in the living room and Mom says 'Hey msbae, it's snowing!' I respond by saying 'Well that explains why it's so damn cold.' :p (Temps here in New Orleans don't normally stay really cold during the day unless there's lots of cloud cover and rain, even in December.)

We took a few pics with the digital camera and I'll upload them later. Surprisingly, it's not even really that cold. The temperatures are still above freezing here. Too bad this didn't happen 2 weeks from now...

They wouldn't even delay schools for that up here.

Like I said, I'm not done. Most area schools have closed for this one because no one around here is well-versed in driving over ice-covered roads. We obviously don't have any salt trucks, either.

Very pretty. Especially #8.
#9 would fit right in the "Photographic supplement to beautiful things" thread. Maybe #22. I like #29, #34 and #36 too.
#12 is not straight.
#24 looks quite funny.
The first of the two is interesting. A little surreal.
For some reason, I like the #28 picture of the dog, too.

The first time my parents' dog saw a blanket of snow on the ground, she just lay donw in it and literally froze. My dad had to pick her up.

msbae, I stopped at #38 because that's a bit too many. It would help to narrow down the selection a little.

Now the snow really starts to come down and make it look like Christmas is just 2 weeks away...

Okay, I'm out of pics. There might be more later.

And they will be there shortly...

That dog is a weird one, much like her masters...

That is freaking nice!

My sister called me from Texas (Dallas area) and told me it was sleeting there! Texas also doesn't get that much snow, and when it does, it is wet and ugly, that's where I grew up. Looks like you got a very wet snow too, it is very messy stuff. The best kind is the real dry powdery kind. That is also what we would call a "dusting" up here, doesn't really affect anything except make a mess.

Here where I live now though, Boone, NC we are expecting 5" of powder snow tonight :D

But, #41 is my favorite... :(
Yeah, well... Not having the American patriotic fiber, that leaves me a little cold. ;) Is the flag bent down by the weight of the snow, though? Which spreads it out. It is a nice picture. Just not my favourite.
I am a bit intrigued by the snow sticking underneath the pole. I suppose it slid down, and maybe froze?

Nice pics. I snapped a few photos myself, although I wish I had been downtown with my camera... could have got more interesting stuff.

I sold a lexus engine to a gal yesterday just north of N.O. Couldn't get ahold of her mechanic, so I left a message. Today, called him back and didn't even get voicemail. Then, I couldn't get the customer to let her know. I texted her in desperation and she texted back. She's without power, as is her mechanic!
