One thing I will say, though, is that this show is bad about reset buttons.

To me, the worst is probably comes in the start of season 3.

Clark has donned a Red-K ring and super-sped to Metropolis and is become a menace, stealing, hitting clubs, etc, and he alienates everyone in his family and friends.

By the third episode of Season 3 everything is back to normal, sure his parents love him so they overcome their problems with Clark, but Chloe and especialy Lana both quickly turn around and get back on Clark's side. Something that shouldn't of happened given how Clark, or "Kal", treated Lana in a Metropolis Club.

But worst of all is how "Kal's" crimes are glossed over with Clark simply telling his parents (us) that he called the police and told them where everything he stole is. Apparently the police were cool with it and just forgot about the one-man crime wave "Kal" was and Clark returned back to his normal farm life.

^ He probably explained to the cops that he wasn't himself, he was taken over, via a red alien rock, by an evil version of himself called 'Kal'. But now the rocks isn't around him anymore, he's fine. They'd understand.
