He's Superman. He can visit his family (of which nobody knows that it is his family) any time he wants. He doesn't need a day job/day life that is just a facade anyway.

Superman was raised as a human by the Kents and is "part of" human society so he probably wants to interact with it as much as possible. Besides, if he was never among humans how would he ever know what it is he's fighting for?
When we see kryptonians come to Earth in the comics, or other tv series and what not, they never hide their identity. However, Clark is different, he was raised by humans, and is thus part of the society, he wants to live like a human, yet at the same time saaaave people. A dual-identity makes sense.
Why are we even talking about this particular subject? Everyone knows why Clark has chosen to have a "secret identity". In the current depiction of the comic book character Clark Kent considers himself to be his real identity as well as a facade but Superman his public persona. I like to look at Superman as a harmonious balance of all of his persona's.

The whole subject of the secret identity was covered in S8 ep "Infamous". With Booster he has nothing to protect...Clark though has family and friends.

Yep. Booster is a time traveler with no roots or people that he cares about in our century.
That is an interesting POV. Most people would say 5,6,and 7 were by far the weakest seasons and 8,9 and 10 are particularly strong.

S8 Failsday! S9 The whole Kandorian story with Zod clone just sucked IMO. S1 could probably go into the C grading but I am being generous.

I don't get this fan mentality that Brian and Kelly have suddenly turned the ship around since Miles and Gough left!! No they've not done that. They've done some interesting things and things that should have been done a long time ago but they've not changed Miles and Gough's formula around. If a fan thinks that then you've not been watching the series on a consistent basis. With everything "Smallville" there is lost potential bordering on stupidness.
If you watch the first few seasons and compare it to the last few seasons theres a marked difference mostly in lighting, tone, cinematography and color.
I snarked last week about the Alt-U being washed out gray. That didn't work for me and actually made the AU portions hard to watch. There's actually something to be said about the first few seasons of this show and its use of light and color to make it look like a vibrant "comic book" come to life.
Of course the flip side of that is the earlier seasons were filled with god-awful teenage angst, over-use of the FOTW concept and the latter seasons have delved a bit more into the mythos (though I think the earlier seasons handled the mythos a tad bit better.)

A surface change though doesn't mean a change in quality. They were on the way to improving things until they brought back KK to unnecessarily wrap up her character. The momentum going forward until that point was arguably the best the series was enjoying. I don't know if anyone else sees it like that but I do. I was intrigued with the Lex Luthor mystery they were attempting until they ruined that, again Lana's return being the catalyst. After the disastrous "Veritas" story arc Brian and Kelly seemed to be on the right path, introducing Tess and a new fresh take on Doomsday in the guise of Davis Bloom. Then things got wrecked and it's pretty much been that tone since in my eyes. Maybe's it my overly critical opinion of them but I don't see as much change as others seem to.

I was never sold on Davis/Doomsday thing and they bring in Tess and ruin that...I wasn't feeling S8 at all even before they brought Lana back.
I remember when "Lex" died and Ollie took his Kryptonite ring that I proposed a theory that somehow Luthor managed to implant his conscience into Oliver and that was why he started acting depressed. I also remember that idea got trampled on here lol. Just little story threads though like that one introducing possibilities but then they go and take it as far away as that. That's my point. Lack of execution and unfulfilled potential. This season is a prime example of my point.

Michelle yes, that's in the comics though. I was referring to Booster in "Smallville".
He did mention his sister in the SMALLVILLE ep, though. During his final conversation with Clark when he fesses up about his past.
That's not what I was talking about though at all. Sigh. I know Michael referenced Michelle in his conversation to Clark. This has nothing to do with the point I was making about Booster having no ties in our century. His family is still in the future in "Smallville" thus he has no reason to conceal his identity.
Unless historical records are found that Timecops are reviewing.
Or did you not just read about his 5 year long prison sentence poor Booster slogged through recently between issues of his comic book a month or so back for pillaging that museum for all his super hero tools.
