Are you talking about the original Brainiac 1.0? The one who assumed the persona of Milton Fine? I believe that he was destroyed upon full filling his programming by releasing General Zod in the Fortress at the end of season five.

^
No...no. That is Zod's Brainiac...Lara mentioned Jor El's Brain Interactive Construct may very well save them...unless there is only 1 Brainiac and it was Jor El's and then corrupted by Zod to suit his own plans.

^ I think that is the Brain Inter Active Construct the device that was made by the scientist Jax-Ur (remember the old man Clark visited in the garage?) and the machine went rouge? His program corrupted?

I thought Brainiac was programed to do Zod's will...at first at least. I know Dax Ur created it but I didn't know if there was just 1 Brainiac or does every Kryptonian have one?...I remember that line from season 7 where Lara mentioned Jor El's Brainiac...but I am just wondering is it the one Zod programed(Milton Fine) to do his will...or is there still another one out there meaning Jor El's...the one Lara mentioned.

Knowing the writers they probably bungled the line. I don't think it was ever touched on that Jor-El created Brainiac in Smallville. I just remember the conversation with Jax-Ur.

I think it was a throw away line...

Unless Dax Ur(What he is called on Smallville ;) ) created just one Brainiac and it was used by Jor El to stop Zod/save Krypton...but somehow Zod corrupted it/reprogrammed it to suit his own purpose.

As much as a like the John Jones character, the logic behind his character doesn't make sense. He told Clark that he was there to keep an eye on him and help out if situations got really bad. There were a ton of situations that went really bad for Clark during the first five or six seasons and he was never there. Very contrived.

^
Clark wasn't in too much danger until season 5(Zod's minions & Brainiac...then Zod Himself) ...I don't have a problem with when JJ was introduced. Plus Lionel being Jor El's vessel helped him then.

If I was a Kandorian with people trying to kill me and disect me on an alien planet then I would want to side with the guy that was going to give me the powers. They can deal with leadership issues later when they aren't dead.

So, Tess gets her shoulder cut and then she pulls her blouse over it and there's no blood?

Ma Kent IS the Red Queen!

Did I miss something?

...so the promo gave away the Red Queen and it is Martha?
That explains it.

Justin Hartley is credited with co writing the story and I believe the screenplay as well...
I noticed.

I can understand no tights, but no flights is darn right stupid.
Yeah, really. Make him fly already. What's the point of the rule at this point?

And forget Sam Lane, bring on Darkseid! I can accept Michael Ironside in the part.

From the Smallville Wiki:

Brainiac's programming was designed in the early 20th century on the planet Krypton by the scientist Dax-Ur, who abandoned his work when he found it had the capacity to destroy entire planets, if not Krypton itself. Brainiac was intended to be a supercomputer that ran Krypton on a daily basis so technology on the planet did not have to be manually operated.

Years later, Jor-El completed Brainiac to aid in the war against General Zod, using its extensive knowledge to help the Science Council defeat Zod. However, its system was corrupted by Zod to aid in his efforts to take over Krypton; Brainiac then aided Zod and often conversed with his disciples about various attacks on Krypton's major cities and government buildings.

Jor-El's brother Zor-El, who planned to destroy Krypton in order to fulfill Rao's prophecy, asked Brainiac to override the lockdown that Jor-El had placed on Kandor's mine. Brainiac did so, allowing Zor-El to ignite Krypton's core and destroy the planet.

so basically Kal-El has to become a hero for all eternity in order to make up for his families past mistakes.

:bolian:

I would love to see an appearance by Brainiac 5 in season 10.

After thinking about it, I am still staying skeptical that Martha is the Red Queen. The promo is vague at best and could be taken out of context. I'll admit, I have no problems being proven wrong, but it is not the first time a promo has been somewhat misleading.

Like the promo for "Charade"

It showed events that took place in "Sacrifice".

When we saw the Red Queen with her face covered in shadow, those WERE Annette O'Toole's beautiful gams we saw. She's always had great legs, and those certainly looked like them. But I suppose we'll find out for sure soon enough in three days.

SPOILER???

So if Martha is the Red Queen then this will set up the battle between Clark and Zod because I'm sure Zod will go after her and Clark will have to do something to save her. But of course he wont kill Zod because he has no balls therefore he will inprison him in the Phantom Zone where sometime in the future Zod will break out and wreak havoc once again where Clark will have to clean up once again and then he will inprison him again where Zod will break out eventually and wreak havoc once again.

Death is such a simple solution.
