Good episode. I'm going with 'Above Average'. I'm not buying that Chloe doesn't love Clark either. She's definately lying to herself. She's also lucky that stuff about Clark didn't come out. I thought that at least something would come out of this little fiasco. As for Lois saying that she loved Clark... big deal. Good friends love eachother all the time. Oh, and Miss Tessmacher... I have an itch too. Can I call you "Miss Tessmacher"? It helps the fantasy. :o

Looks like Lois has support all right!
Yeah, I noticed that too. She should be on the cover of Big 'uns. Do they have that in the Smallville universe? If they don't, they should.

Wow. This is like a sadistic version of Moment of Truth.
I was thinking "Saw".

Off-topic question while we're on commercial break, have you guys seen the pix Paramount released yesterday from the ST sets?

The bridge looks awesome.
I like what I've seen of the new Trek film, though it does look more like "Star Trek: Power Rangers" with the young cast, the colorful costumes and the toy-ish looking sets. Just an observation.

You know, I just had a thought as I'm typing this... The new Trek film almost looks like the "Smallville" of the Trek franchise. Way to get back on topic eh?

Again, no trendy music over the last 4 minutes. Are we sure this is still Smallville?

They did get their budget cut like every other CW show. Maybe they can't afford the trendy music any more.
If they're lowering the budget, they should have dropped the mansion from the show, or just use it two or three times when it's needed for a plot, like something hidden, blah blah. The story line would totally support not seeing the mansion any more, Tess has no attachment to it like Lex would have (symbol of taking it from his dad.)

The Lexcorp office was just one room in any office tower, not expensive, should have kept it.

As far as the episode goes, it was fun because you couldn't quite predict what Lois would answer, whether Clark would have to answer etc. It wasn't as predictable as a typical TV script (not just Smallville) and had some fun characterizations and moved the relationship ahead a notch.

Jeweler guy "just happened" to be wearing a kryptonite watchband. Clark keeps forgetting to scan the room for bad guys after he busts in. I guess the plot needs some little coincidence to allow for the torture scenes...

^ If memory serves they really did build Chloe's apartment above the set of the Talon. If they tear it down they lose the set of her apartment too.

She needs to move to Metropolis, she has NOTHING in smallville. Jimmy is in metropolis, her works is in metropolis, all the good stuff happens there now, she needs to get a loft in metropolis!

Below Average.

Use of Kryptonite as a reason why Clark can't just bust in and put a stop to whatever the villain of the week is up to is an instant BIZARRO for me.

On the other hand, Clark and Lois were funny together so I'll bump it up one.

I do have to say, that really didn't make much sense here, WHY did he have a kryptonite bracelet? It didn't do anything for him. That was very random.

^ That would be too easy. They need something to bring them back to Smallville.
These days I just take the title "Smallville" to mean Clark, not the town.

He's probably just another person who saw some green rocks and fashioned them into a bracelette. It's been done before on the show. If you look at it that way, it's not all that odd or out of place. Plus, they had to find a way to make Clark vulnerable for the story to work and this fits perfectly within Smallville's style.

I guess I shouldn't act surprised that Lois had zero reaction to Clark's forehead and lip lacerations being completely healed (with blood wiped away, even!) when he got around to releasing her from her bonds. ;)

I think they were going for the fact that he was a jeweller. Yeah it's contrived and stupid as hell, and one of the show's biggest failings.

Considering how plentiful kryptonite is on this show, if he ever turned into Superman, would he be collapsing during every fourth or fifth rescue attempt?

"I'm here to stop the plane from crashing. Oh no! A prototype plane that uses kryptonite fuel! And the pilot is wearing kryptonite shoelaces! And the co-pilot is carrying a kryptonite condom!"

Originally there was supposed to be a kryptonite injection similar to what was used at Belle Reve on Lex way back when.

It's like some one watched the Saw movies and said "How can we make this accessible to children?"

This is the second episode in a row where they have screamed as loudly as possible the Chloe has no more feelings for Clark left and that we should all bury any consideration that they have a destiny together... They need to rename this show "Metropolis" already like every viewer with a drip of perspired fanwank has concluded is the next step in this story since the fourth season there abouts.

Jimmy is going to cock this up.

It was an ok episode.

I liked Tess using Ollie. Ollie was pretty much an arrogant prick when he was younger and he deserves everything from those that don't like him.

Sorta like your hero, Lex?

Lex often deserves what eh gets. That said, Ollie and Clark and the gang get away with murder o to speak and often have the nerve to be offended, etc by their treatment and not accept their huge role in developing it.

There wasn't enough questioning from the bad guy IMHO for Chloe and Jimmy. All that for like 2-3 questions? Please.

Well Chloeavage's answer to the last question was pretty definitive.

Plenty of other areas to explore in a relationship. I understand the reasoning with time limitations for the show but it still annoyed me a bit.

As a character Lois Lane always annoyed the hell out of me as her character always smacked of a hubris that constantly gets her in trouble and requires someone else to constantly bail her out. There's plucky anand dogged and then there is stupid which IMHO Lois falls into the latter far more often the the former in all supes incarnations. Anyways, Smallville is certainly no exception in this regard. Few trhings are more annoying than someone having FAR more grand an opinion of their capabilities than they actually have and Lois is a prime example of this.
And thus you obviously miss the point of the Lois Lane character entirely.

No, I undertand the point of the character, that doesn't mean I have to like the way it is executed no matter what incarnation of superman we are talking about.

really miss the Lana Lang hottness from the show. Chloe, Lois and Tess are all good looking but not anywhwere near a hot as Lana is.

Sorry. That was just really funny. [/quote]

Sorry, those other women are certainly beautful but Kruek is much better looking IMHO. You say TO-MAY-TO I say TO-MAH-TO. Beauty is subjective.

Hahahahaha, yeah, it should be called Metropolis. And with all of the female drama and hooking up with the male characters, it should be called METROPOLIS 90210, or THE METROPOLIS OC.

Clark needs to move into his apartment too. Stop showing us the farm because it's fruitless.

The Kryptonite stuff just pisses me off. It's lazy, you've been doing it for 8 years now - do something new! Clark's reaction to the Kryptonite is inconsistent too. It shouldn't have the immediate effect on him that it does.

Tess is becoming annoying. Barking orders at your staff and threatening to fire them if they don't meet your ridiculously high expectations ("find the crystal or find a new line of work!") is no way to run a business. Does anyone think that Bill Gates became a billionaire by randomly firing staff ?

Then there's the ridiculous stick fight with Oliver. "Weak men like you make me stronger!" - okay, Tess, we get it, you hate men. You and everyone else on TV. Fine.

Thank Odin this show has Lois and Chloe.

Actually, a little off topic, I've had several bosses like her who do do that.
