Mind you, I've read no spoilers, but I've been wondering if Tess will fit the mold of Big Barda (though maybe not so big) who started as one of the furies but turned her back on it to become a hero. I also wonder if at some point they won't get their powers supercharged a bit, maybe by Darkseid.

You know, on most shows you would get excited about "the upcoming war" that Darkseid's minions talk about. But this is Smallville. The "war" will last two minutes and involve a lot of characters marking their territory. Lame.

I'm guessing the war will be depicted in the final two or three episodes yep. They spend the entire season setting it up, building up tension and placing characters into position then meh.

Series finale scene speculation

*Clark enters Watchtower*

Clark-Darkseids minions are storming the Watchtower. Metropolis is being overrun, Tess I need your help.

*Tess turns around and she's in battle gear. Programming has taken over*

*Clark battles Tess*

*Tess dies when she falls out of the tower*

Tess- Take care of my daughter......Mercy.

Did I say that? That must be what you want Guy. I don't want Tess to die or be a Fury...there has to be a better way to deal with her character.

Tess will be a Fury, mark my words and Sammy's scenario is very close to how I depict her betrayal. Except for the daughter part.

Her betrayal won't be her's if it was programmed in by Granny Goodness...and I think making her a Fury at some point is ridiculous...that non-sense should end with "Abandoned". I personally see a Tess/Luthor scenario emphasis on Luthor playing out rather than her joining Darkseid...there are many sub-plots going on and some aren't related to each other...yet.

Quite frankly as you know I think everything they've done with Tess since she Lana revealed Lex was using her to spy on things has been ridiculous.

It seems the only character they are not out to destroy is Lois Lane.

Damn straight.

So, in a weird retcon, the possessing spirit that looked like Darkseid is actually Godfrey?

I'm liking the approach of subtly introducing a team of villains that will be semi-recurring characters. Having one big bad as part of the cast for a season was too much, considering how many convoluted ways they had to come up with to involve them in B stories. That's my gripe mainly with the last season, not the 8th as much. Even the main arc episodes seemed like weird made up shit just to reach that 21 episode order. I mean, the huge buildup around the RAO tower that gets torched in like 3 seconds, and red sun powered Kryptonians? What, how, why? None of these things ended up making any sense or mattering by the end of the season.

The Unholy Trinity aren't a team of villains though. They're minions of a dark god who are preparing the Earth for his inevitable arrival. As for Godfrey's appointment...well Smallvlile loves using human vassals for hosts.

OK, Godfrey must be the human's actual name.. It's also the name of an Apokolips character in the comics, so they must be referencing that. I wondered because Desaad made it sound like the guy is not inhabited by Darkseid, but is yet another pawn.
